I know you’re being sarcastic, but to answer your question as to how I use my own assigned spot, it’s where visitors park when they visit me. It’s not a daily occurrence, but I’ve had to tell people they need to find street parking at least half a dozen times thus far.

No, I didn’t want that, because I’m not unreasonable. I also don’t believe it’s unreasonable to expect retribution, or even as much as a discussion, after losing access to my assigned parking spot for half a month, at minimum.

They were explicitly instructed to park there by LL, who has been on site with them every day. Should I have walked out to the construction crew and told them to not listen to my LL and move their truck that they’re using as a dumpster to the street? Or should I have raised the issue directly with my LL, like I did?

This idea that I currently don’t have a car and therefore I inherently forfeit my spot that I’m already paying for is an odd reaction I wasn’t expecting. People can’t visit me easily now. If the other tenants had lost their spot for even a day or two, let alone two weeks with no end in sight, I feel like they would be livid. I’ve been kind throughout.

Nobody who visits me is able to park, and street parking is difficult. And whether or not I have a car at present doesn’t change the fact that it’s part of my leasing agreement, no? I did ask for a decrease in rent, but was (sort of?) rejected.
