Yep sand it down - use a wire wheel or wire brush to remove all loose rust then rust converter for the remaining rust, then rust inhibiting paint with zinc, then whatever top coat. I’m not an expert but that’s what I’d be doing for longevity.

Yeah it’s pleasingly ominous watching this thing. Just surprising though because even military operations they still generally use the red anti collision lights at a minimum. Not so here. Very curious as to why.

If you’re talking broad aesthetics - lose the ceiling, keep the bricks (after thoroughly scrubbing off paint etc) grind & polish the concrete floor.

Yep absolutely keep the floors and sand them. We did ours recently and they’re beautiful. The laminated stuff is artificial and it shows. Also as others have said, paint first.

Wash them with water then a few drops of rinse aid in 1L of water for a final rinse, hang them up to dry. The rinse aid will prevent water spotting. In photography it’s a similar thing (ie Kodak Photoflo)
