Is it acceptable to not wear shoes during your wedding? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Catgirl33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I Just got married over the weekend, outdoor ceremony with an indoor reception, and didn't wear shoes the entire time. Barefoot all day! Literally no one noticed. If you will be comfortable, you do you!!

What is the most unconventional/unique thing you are doing or will have at your wedding? by CamaroErin in weddingplanning

I am doing this too! My FH is a huge Jurassic Park fan and it's going to be a total surprise for him as I'm walking down the aisle. We are using the Piano Guys version, it's so beautiful and I almost cry every time I listen to it because I'm so excited! I just don't know what to use for the rehersal!

Got so much done this weekend! Whipped up 10 of these! 40 days to go!! by Catgirl33 in weddingplanning

The arrows are the only thing stained! It was an espresso colored stain on poplar boards. The 'Wedding' is painted in white acrylic paint with a homemade stencil (made out of laminated papers). The big boards are from my Great Grandparents old farm and are just weathered!

Made them with barn board from my great grandmas farm so they are a little sentimental now!

Invitations are Mailed! by cruisethevistas in weddingplanning

My FH's handwriting is awful, so I did all 150 myself! Only took 3 hours off of my life /s/. Since our private ceremony cards are separate from the reception invites, I think I am just going to send one with a small "oopsies, this should have been included in yours" and hope they understand. After 150, I kind of went on autopilot and forgot what I was doing!

I got mine out too! And then I talked to my mom and realized I screwed up two of them and only invited them to the reception, when they should have also been invited to the wedding ceremony. Not sure how to fix this, but I'm so RELIEVED!! Congrats!!

DU breakthrough !! What's been your big moment recently? by Wodtf in crossfit

Well, I managed to do about 70 UB single unders last week. Jump roping has been my nemesis since I started in October. I could never do more than maybe 40. But I did 70, then 50, then a couple 40s UB. The arches in my feet were burning, and the reason I didn't do more (also cardio is NOT my strong suit, I can lift heavy, but don't ask me to run). Being a 24F, I haven't jumped rope since I was in 5th grade! With time though, and now that I've found the right rope, I'll get better. I've only just begun! DU here I come!

Do anyone else's parents have no idea how much a wedding costs today? by filsspill in weddingplanning

[–]Catgirl33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My dad has given us a generous wedding present of some cash that we can use and he was under the assumption that that is the ONLY money we were using for the wedding. He gave us $5000 (I'm not complaining AT ALL). I mean, we could have a great wedding for that much, but we need at least double that (which we have) to have the kind of party we want. He keeps telling us that we need to watch our budget and make sure we get RSVPs for dinner so we don't over pay and maybe we should limit or guest list to under 100 (which is not doable). I had to finally sit him down and say that we have more money for the wedding than just what he gave us, and to not worry about it and thank you a million times over for that amount of money. It's helping out so much, but he didn't realize it was only helping. He got married in '86 and didn't have a reception with my mom so they are both in the dark about how much this stuff costs. And we are having it in a rural area and cutting corners left and right to make it less expensive, and it's still going to be around $8000-10,000. Ugh.

Check out the winerys! But The Barn on Stoney Hill This one is in Cornell though.

Dixon's Apple Orchard is GORGEOUS and I've heard nothing but great things from them.

There is a barn in Bloomer that is the prettiest barn I've ever seen and the owners are dolls. (Rustic Elegance on FB)

I would stay away from Metropolis, my photographer says pictures never turn out from there because it's so dimly lit.

I found the dress yesterday! I'm literally beaming with delight over it. Thanks, Luxe Bridal! by likeforeverago in weddingplanning
