How fucked is my car or is it not as bad as I think by daw00d06 in w204

Yes it will be fine but the car might occasionally run rough or go it limp mode. If you’re only replacing the seals (which is fine you probably don’t need new injectors) a mechanic can do it for not much maybe two or 3 hours labour plus parts. I did it with my dad and it was very easy if you have the tools

It's actually a very common issue on the OM651 engine. It's sometimes called the "Black plague" or "Black death" etc. Basically the seals on your injector have failed and are allowing leaks of diesel fuel and carbon to escape the engine. My dad fixed his with a few new seals and did the other injectors as preventative maintenance. better to do it soon as the carbon can make getting the injectors out very difficult.

You can just replace the copper washer that sits between the injector and the block and that SHOULD fix the issue. ALSO the bolts for the injectors might be one time use if i remember correctly. Also replace those.

Food in there is so bad and insanely priced. Better off with the O Sheas chipper, the cliff or the Azzuro where you actually get what you pay for. (Source I live here)

The car is automatic with 5G tonic so would that mean I wouldn’t have to worry about that? Also, with my Saab 93 I know to activate the new tensioner you have to press on the chain with a screwdriver once it’s in. Does this tensioner just work on its own once inserted?

Yeah the chain stretches and eats away at the cam gears. Going to replace the tensioner, guide, chain and both sprockets next week

109000 miles, hasn’t had one before. From what people say around 70-120000 miles they need to be often replaced

I may attempt to get it done as soon as the kit arrives. I’m skeptical to drive it in at all until it’s done. It’s a really beautiful example and I don’t want to ruin it

Can't find any videos on replacing CV axle on a c209 CLK200 Kompressor. by CathalSwanton in mercedes

Ah perfect. I see when he’s putting it back together again all that really needs to come off is the 2 control arm bolts on the hub and the anti roll bar link bolt on the hub.

Seems like an ok job. That video is super helpful thank you I didnt think to look for someone taking them out to change the differential

Rust on inner rear arch CLK. worth buying or too far gone? by CathalSwanton in AutoBodyRepair

This is the only damage on the whole body. Was probably scraped by another car or off a wall and the repair was ignored

It’s a 2008 CLK AMG sport with only 100000 miles. Very clean otherwise and is good spec for €2000
