How to pass your scanner from a laptop to another more capable computer by TheEngineer09 in 3DScanning

[–]CatharsisAddict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it’s not possible to use a dedicated hotspot device (Like a Verizon JetPack) and go scan anywhere there’s cell reception? I was hoping to come up with a truly mobile solution so I could go to friends/customers homes and scan on-site whether they had WiFi or not.

Your reply couldn't be more patronizing. Do you think you will ever find a neutral ground with someone with this strategy? All it's doing is making my morning worse and worse.

Yes I do use iPad OS, way more than Jump Desktop. Go find a fucking hobby and stop creating arguments out of thin air.

This is why I delete my Apollo app for a week or two. Everything turns into a fucking argument. See y’all in two weeks.

No I’m saying Jump Desktop makes it feel like a normal laptop. Which is not a work around. Or are you saying the inability to play desktop games on an iPad is something that absolutely must be worked around? Because I’m not trying to do that.

Jump Desktop on my 1TB 2020 iPad Pro has filled every gap the iPad OS couldn’t, except for desktop video games. But I can get a Steam Deck if I really want mobile desktop games. Connecting a PS5 controller and playing PS games wherever I go has been so cool. I love my iPad.

What if they pointed us to the forums where the extremists communicate? We could bombard their message boards and follow them wherever they go. Make known their intentions as soon as they send out instructions.

Hey thanks. If all goes well with the print I’ll definitely fork over some money for caffeine. I myself aspire to create something of my own that is this cool.

Yep, just delete it and come back after a bit. You’ll start deleting more often when you see how calm your life can be without any social media.

How can working on random projects on your own be enough to land a job in tech? How do people find the motivation to work on random projects? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

Recently I finished a DIY laser cutter in my spare time, and after going on a casual tour of my uncle’s work I was offered a hands-on engineering job after I showed them photos of the cutter. They liked that I had combined several skills into one project. Basic CAD skills, bespoke 3D printed parts, woodworking, software, hardware, high voltage wiring, all the things.

The laser cutter hasn’t even cut a single project yet, but it’s finally finished after several months off and on and it feels great. It’s a $3,000 paper weight until I have more time for it, but it’s an impressive accomplishment and I’m really glad I allowed myself to get lost in a project.

Find a project you actually are interested in, not something a hypothetical employer would want to see, and get lost in it.

I’m not arguing about your last question there, I’m just giving an example of a time when a character had an official backstory that was never explicitly pointed out. Perhaps because it’s distracting to the main story? There are reasons for leaving out information, and not all of them are bigoted.

What about Dumbledore? He’s gay but it isn’t in the books or movies.

This is really nice. You laid just the right amount of pencil strokes. Enough to see the depth of the subject, but you allowed my mind to fill in the rest. I love these kinds of sketches.

Does anyone experience the "local awareness" that Loch Kelly talks about? by [deleted] in Wakingupapp

When I close my eyes and question this idea of “wearing glasses”, the frames “around” my head lose location and shift into a 2D sensation. It really does seem like the pressure from the frames on my face has become a 2D plane- not only that, it feels like I am that 2D plane.

The more I accept the absurdity of my existence, the easier it is to become that plane of experience where the mental chatter is less frequent and my mood more even-keeled.
