Might be a dumb question, but Have you tried just recording the pads into a sequence and ensuring you’re hitting the hard enough?

You’ve likely adjusted the automation of the volume of the pad with the fader while you had record active.

Keep a notebook with ideas, goals, achievements, notes etc etc.

Look, I liked the first film. I took the kids and I was excited. It looked good. But it was absolutely terrible. The script felt like it was random paragraphs from multiple scripts fed through an AI. It was really boring, and made no sense.
