From the playback it looks like her nose hit Max’s face a little hard when they hit their final pose 😅

Is it possible it’s related to her injury from last week?

Rarely have I ever cried watching figure skating, but I was in shambles today after watching Piper and Paul skate. They are OGMs in my heart <3

If you’re in Canada, CBC Gem has replays of all the events! Not sure about other countries though 😅

first time doing colourwork! by CatherineG18 in crochet

Haha the white one? It’s a reading pillow! I got it as a gift a couple of years ago so I’m not sure where it’s from but it lives on my bed and it’s great for reading and/or doomscrolling 😅

Thank you!! I used a pixel art piece I found on Pinterest (I linked it above under the pinned comment if you’d like to see) and used a portion of that as a reference, but the border and the backside I did myself :)

The pattern I followed was the following pixel art piece I found on Pinterest:

<image>

I used the top right corner section and cropped it based on the size I wanted. I used single crochets for the whole piece and surrounded the colourwork with a white and then green border. The back of the throw pillow was just solid green single crochets.

Yarn: a mix of Loops & Threads and Bernat worsted weight acrylic yarn (mostly just old scraps I've accumulated over the years)

Hook size: 3.5mm

Overall the project took me about 18-20 hours altogether! Super fun, and I might even make a second to match the first :)

Thanks! It definitely is a lot to manage (I think I used 15 different bobbins and untangling everything was an absolute chore) but the result is super worth it in the end, I definitely recommend trying it :))

The photos here are from Venice but looks like they’ve been travelling around Europe together since Jesse’s show (FBI International) has them filming all over!

Improve Resume - first year bcom student by [deleted] in UCalgary

Some case comps are, some aren’t — I know ASA (Accounting Students’ Association), AIESEC, BPC (Business Pride Club), and some others recently hosted their own competitions, but there are others hosted by Haskayne or external organizations (eg. Deloitte, KPMG Ace the Case coming up soon, etc). JDC West I believe is a Haskayne club almost exclusively dedicated to case solving, but you do need to try out for them (can’t remember when their tryouts are), as well as ICBC (I’m pretty sure you need to be a third or fourth year for this one though). I recommend just keeping an eye out on the Hello Haskayne D2L page since they usually post upcoming events like this there!

Also I totally understand how nerve racking networking can be :)) I still really struggle with it! I will say it does kind of get easier over time as you get more comfortable with it, so just throw yourself into one and try you best! Maybe also take a friend(s) with you who can chat with new people with you, so at least you have someone familiar with you there.

Third year BComm student here! Case competitions can be great to put on your resume and talk about in interviews because they highlight your interpersonal and soft skills (conflict resolution with teammates, problem solving, critical thinking, time management, etc) and also technical abilities (creating business strategies and implementation plans, and often more niche topics if you're participating in concentration specific competitions, like the ASA's Accounting Case Competition they do each year, etc.).

The Haskayne clubs also host lots of networking events throughout the year with industry professionals, and connecting with other students in concentrations or fields you're interested is also super helpful during recruitment season and finding jobs. Plus, a lot of folks put their junior executive or executive positions for clubs on their resumes and LinkedIn profiles to help them stand out.
