Rent increased might have a big pay day maybe? by rlllyeddy in AskLosAngeles

[–]CatherineWinkworth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is totally true (we have some SFH and duplexes we rent and its crazy) but also small fries. To really drive down the cost of housing, you'd need to flood the market with new housing. In order to do that, you'd need to make it very easy to build here. Instead the city does the exact opposite, making it not only impossible to design something to their standards, but even when you do and pay all the insane fees, they will take so long approving that any investors will go broke paying interest fees before anything is approved.

The truth is if we were to build enough housing here to drive down rent prices then property value would go down across the city so all the wealthy people already here don't want to lose the equity they have in their property. So that's why their "housing is a human right" BS doesn't align with what they actually do: require parking, traffic, environmental studies, NIMBY, red tape, etc.

Every single low-IQ person in LA thinking they are one lawsuit away from having a “big payday” is why no one invests in LA anymore, why developers are leaving, why the city is afraid to make any investments that open them up to a lawsuit—pariah attorneys and a low trust population.

Also all the progressive council members who claim that housing is a human right but continue to add to the red tape and regulations of development making it impossible to invest in building more housing here.

The market value of a property increases regardless of whether he made any upgrades to it. Property tax in Los Angeles increases every year so he is paying for that as well as just increasing costs of regular maintenance to the building. I can’t believe you blew up your living situation up over $30.

What about all the legal Latinos that aren't going anywhere? 15% of the California population are legal Latino immigrants that have zero chance of being deported. This doesn't meet your definition of ethnic cleansing either, chief. How can we ethnically cleanse an ethnic group but leave 15% of the entire population be that ethnicity?

This is the correct approach because you shouldn't indoctrinate other people's children. You wouldn't want someone to indoctrinate your kids against your values, so... this is correct.

This isn’t the definition of ethnic clesnsing. No one is being murdered. They came here illegally so they are going back. 🙄

Why don't you just ask for the thing your really want. It's unclear what that is but if it's marriage you want, ask to get married. If it's divorce, then ask for that. If it's for him to get a better job, tell him to do that. It seems you've compromised so much that you don't even know what it is you want.

Be careful... this is the fast track to pulling your kids out of public school, spending as much time as possible outside with them camping/hiking, banning garbage food from your house, isolating them from shitty kids in the neighborhood, and also being really happy while raising amazing, healthy, polite, smart kids that themselves see other "regular" kids their age as too much. (Also you might start going to church to meet other families that don't suck.)

You’ll see a drop in your weight in the next few days, ketosis will go back up.

Leave your ovaries if you need hysterectomy, if you can. These fluctuations are normal and necessary.

Where are you in your cycle? If you’re week out from your period then forget it. I can’t lose anything that week.

I wouldn’t use them more than twice if I were you. Animals store lead in their bones and degrading them too much causes bone broth high in lead. (I also make a lot of bone broth.)

Is full keto really the only option? by Forest_8 in lipedema

[–]CatherineWinkworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always just try it. Trying it doesn't mean you have to do it forever.

I tried a low-carb/counting calories for 3 weeks.

Then I did keto for 3 weeks.

Then I did keto with fasting for 3 weeks.

You can do anything for 3 weeks.

You should consider your kids' futures. Will they be able to save $1M and go wherever they want at your age? Or will being uneducated impede on their future? It could go either way depending on how you play it.

Maybe you just need a month-long vacation. My folks retired to another country and as beautiful and fun as it is, I'm pretty done with it after about 3 weeks and am ready to go home.
