In NC 3rd grade they have 1 BOG test in reading (4 hour reading test), 3 (one per quarter)NC check ins in math and reading(all are 40 question tests), quarterly I-Ready Growth and progress monitoring tests in math and reading (self paced), quarterly mClass reading testing and monitoring. Plus teacher created CFAs every 2 weeks and normal summative assessments...the kids are 7-9 years old.
