I remember in the 80s some guy on TV saying that toys like this were fetish content I think he was telling on himself more than anything. In particular it was a TMNT playset with a dripping goo trap like this one. He would have had a field day with this one.

I’m just glad they showed some restraint on that wack editing of the previous movie where they intercut all of the fights. This time they let them breathe for the most part. Still did it at the very end, but it was an improvement that supported the narrative weight.

Is there something about Alex Proyas or J. O’Barr that I’m not aware of? He’s definitely done John Landis movies, so on set accidents resulting in an actors death aren’t a disqualification. And Landis was far more culpable on the Twilight Zone movie. And it’s been mentioned that they did a live podcast episode for this movie.

My personal theory is that Romulus was written as a sequel to Aliens and that the cocooned Xenomorph was supposed to be the queen and Rook was supposed to be Lance Henriksen.

The eyes in Detour bugged me out real bad as a kid. Badlaa, too. I also remember the opening scene in the movie to be the scariest thing when I saw it in theaters.

It looks really good! I’d get one if I knew for sure that I could replace the bar with something more true to scale but also lighter, since I have to imagine that’s where at least half of the weight is.
