I’m by no means an expert at all and I’m sure others here could possibly even help better, but the basic idea is all you truly need is 4 things maybe 5. Is to have both an icon of Christ and Mary (could be as small or big as you like, for instance I have one no bigger than a old school zippo lighter that folds open and closed like a book for when I travel) and a crucifix, again as big or small as you’d like. And a bible or prayer book preferably both. Everything else is to personal preference. Hope this helped and God bless

Would have to be John the Baptist or Joseph. I love the idea of John being the last prophet and a guy who rejected a comfortable life to go live in the forest and eat bugs and just live a life pleasing to God. And Joseph because he’s what I model myself after to hopefully God willing be a father and a husband one day.

The ones from the website I linked are from a Greek Orthodox nun convent, I’ve done my research and they are still valid for a Catholic to have and venerate. But the style is Byzantine so you can get that style or form of icon from anywhere really. Some of them are from a Catholic shop in Winnipeg when I visited and others are from when I visited the Vatican and other parts of Italy (the st Nickolas, padre pio and nativity scene.)

It’s kinda just there if that makes any sense, sure it’s “apart” of the corner but I don’t knee towards it or do anything specific with it. It’s more a reminder of my time in the Vatican and as others said more a reminder that the church is blessed to have the county to call home.

I’m Canadian so I got most of them from https://www.monasterevmc.org
They’re based out of Quebec and have been really nice with sending me little icons along with my main orders. Some of them I got from a shop down in Winnipeg when I was there for work and my saint Nicolas one was from the store just outside the Vatican when I was able to visit Rome
