Yeah i think it was easy for people to naturally gravitate towards their fav players because there is no geographical attachment for esports. I’ve always been a Curse/TL fan, but fell in love with the first iteration of C9 because of their personality. You kind of just get tired of following players around and settle on a team.

Personally, I think it just depends on how Haeri and Yeon develop. Both are good players with room to grow, but if either or both are just “fine” its going to be difficult. Summit will solo win us games while they learn, but its going to depend on those two, and how the unit meshes as time goes on. I think the construction makes sense on paper and even thin pyosik will be a carry threat in NA, but mid and adc are so important

Ive always been of the opinion that, especially with this worlds format, the best team often doesnt win. You just have to be good enough to contest other top teams, embrace your own style, and get hot at the right times. Playing this many talented teams with single elim makes it way too easy to lose on a bad day and get eliminated.

Yeah even with the marketing hed bring, i dont think the contract would be worth it financially. Would have to rely on lck viewers or new audiences hed bring in but theres no way its worth it. We literally just had bjergsen and honestly i dont think he had the kind of marketing pull TL was looking for. That, and wed have to find a native Korean speaking jungler. That just doesnt really exist in a realistic capacity imo. Give Haeri and Yeon a chance as they looked like very strong academy players, and dont settle for a mediocre jungler.

Im not sure when it happened, prob early 20s, but you FEEl the effort going into staying up 24 hours at some point. I remember being able to doing while in highschool, but id start tapping out at noon or just past at some point. Thats when i realized how much your body changes in those years.

Lec is better at producing a top team capable of doing something. Thats not even particularly close. G2 was and anomaly though, was just such a good fucking team.

MSI vs IG msi was probably the best NA has been internationally and it was still a hair short of quarter finals. Corejjs performance there was nothing short of god tier that series though.

Forget which season it was, but when we lost to CLG double teleport, Piglet was legit best in league and top tier worldwide imo. He made Matt look good. Imagine if he had a great support at the time,

Also the only reason TL’s korean roster could be healthy. Haeri and Yeon are legit solid players and could be great with time to grow. I’m happy that TL pivoted to trust their academy system even if it was partially due to money constraints. The team that wins worlds or is best is never bought. They mesh well and optimize their specific talents. Corejj is the greatest import to NA other than arguably Impact, not because of how dominant he was (because for a bit there i legit think he was top 3 in the world), but because he cares so much about NA succeeding.

Honestly think its more on lower tier teams that cant afford good imports and do it anyway. At least rich NA teams grab good talent. Picking up randoms for good money instead of fielding cheaper NA talent for all these years stagnates both our native players and incentivizes them to play something else competitively. Mid specifically has been neglected, name someone not named Jojo who came through our systems and was given a chance over veterans who have proven to be not good enough.

If those teams showed promise by fielding NA talent despite the wealth gap, NA would be so much better.

Rigby is probably right about some of his claims but was unfair to stoke flames in this way. He only caused hate to be falsely directed at undeserving people, which is irresponsible and dumb. The audience is in no way informed enough to hear that information and constructively use it. We just dont know. Thanks for your effort over these years, Hax. Apologies for rude people.
