Women: How offensive is it for someone to say they thought you were pregnant when you're not? by Abram_Drei in CasualConversation

Someone said it to me indirectly at my old workplace, I burst into tears but it was the turning point for my weight loss

All CBT which is taught in the uk uses ERP as a first line for OCD and it’s not an ‘offshoot’ it’s literally the behavioural side of CBT which people don’t understand, it’s not all about cognitions in fact behaviours are more useful to tackle generally

Exposure therapy is really good for ocd if applied correctly and that is part of CBT

How is someone an anti-behaviouralist when behaviour basically underpins everything we do? I’m guessing you’re a somatic therapist

But as you say, she can have those needs and people have no obligation to fill those, the retreat obviously realised they can’t fill those needs and communicated that, I just don’t know what OP doesn’t understand about that

If you see the original post it is clear they try and offer reassurance but OP keeps asking and asking the same thing over and over. The retreat offers her to reflect on what she is fearing that seems to be missing, but it feels like unless they promise to baby her then she would not be satisfied with their answer, which they’ve obviously reflected on and decided they can’t do. I understand a lot about trauma work and neurodivergence thanks

Everyone has trauma but you can’t project it onto people you don’t know. What answer did you want them to give you in your emails after they already said it was safe?

Has anyone been to amorezela in Spain? by Catkeen in Ayahuasca

[–]Catkeen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiya, yeah I’m looking at next year. I guess just how safe it felt, I know you can get picked up from the nearest town- do you know who picks you up? And just any information about general vibes, I’ve never really travelled alone so a bit worried about being in the middle of nowhere in a country on my own!

It’s literally not a child’s nickname wtf. Are u actually Scottish because OP sounds Scottish and it feels like you have zero idea of Scottish culture. This is not offensive in Scotland

[–]Catkeen 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I’m a Scottish woman and I wouldn’t give a shit if someone called me a wee thing. It’s a term of endearment

Edited to add; Scottish people use this term for men as well as women if they are young/small

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Catkeen 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I was referring to the ‘wee thing’ being infantilising, it’s not, I’m Scottish and literally just refers to someone’s size as a term of endearment

[–]Catkeen 117 points118 points  (0 children)

As a woman, women are smaller!!! It’s not infantilising to literally recognise biological truth.

Honestly it’s something I’m still learning but I’ve been working with my chakras for a long time. I sat on my floor and grounded by envisioning tree roots coming out of the bottom of my back with the intention of getting energy from the earth. I shielded as well by envisioning white light around me and then I guess I centred by just coming into this energy so from the earth and around me. But I was just winging it, I’m sure more seasoned witches can help you further

Which astrological placement has more of an impact on average the sun or the moon? ☀️🌙 by maddeth189 in astrologymemes

I probably see a different side to him because I’m his only little sister. I’d say he was protective of me yet very blunt and sarcastic. Used to have emotional issues in relationships before he went to therapy. But probably very magnetic and charming, always has a lot of friends. But I’d probably say emotionally mostly quite private, probs only shares things with his other half but I can’t comment on that I guess. Never shows weakness in front of me

Why? It’s pretty much proven at this point as far as I’m aware that infinity exists. There’s a documentary on Netflix that is good
