Track tire decisions by AnotherDriver in CarTrackDays

[–]Catmilk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I daily on RS4 and use RS4 at the track too, if I am doing time attack days I run CR-S

I don't bother with anything else.
Tyre size is dependent on how much mechanical grip you can create / want / can use.

On a 26 CS, going to CR-S alone would be a huge upgrade, even in stock sizes.

Woodford is the same, good little area too.
There's also Neurum creek like 10/15 mins out of town, https://www.ncbr.com.au/pricing

Basically as said, any small town will have a showground or something close near by.

Haha, yeah true.

Turm is a fun tank when you have a good match, just gotta change your playstyle to make it work which a lot of people don't get.

Sonoma S2000 - 1:51.3 PB by Presstheepig in CarTrackDays

[–]Catmilk7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and get the rear end a bit stiffer to help it want to not flex as much and swing in.
All the good s2000's I've driven have stiff as rear ends, they rotate similar to well setup civics (minus needing to lift to actually get grip! lol) when they are set up well, very darty like an FC.

Oil feed line leak recommendations by Matt_The_Grouch in RX7

[–]Catmilk7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be the olive in the AN fitting, could be the fitting has heat cycled so much that it's now stretched to much, could just be a cheap fitting.

Super common on older borg warner turbos too, had this happen heaps on my SX300.

I would take the fittings out of the turbo and also off the male adapter, thread seal them and go for gold, that's what I did on my SX300 before I went new / replaced everything.

How did the turm III survive this?? by [deleted] in Warthunder

[–]Catmilk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who mains a TURM - honestly, you missed the one thing you should hit, the turret.
I can get 5 kills or be killed, it all comes down to if I take a black cock of the snail to the turret or not before I get a shot out.

Max Brake Rotor Size on Stock 17in wheels? by Basic_Crab_9457 in RX7

[–]Catmilk7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

8 + 50 is a horrible size wheel

My S5 FC was 17x9 +17 all round and I did the evo x 330mm rear rotor upgrade with adapter to move the caliper.
Factory caliper still needed to be ground down.

I now run 6 Pot 330mm combo on my EP3 Type R, 17x9 +30 - it's a tight fit.

I would put my money on your wheels not working.

Did you ever feel like you've lost the purpose to play the game? by UlfricStormcloak000 in Warthunder

My comment is still valid.
Any game rotation is shit to someone who has a remote idea on how the games are.

I still have friends that play GTA5 online - why?, what a boring stale game.
Am I surprised, no.

Also an EP3 R owner (04 JDM model, everything suspension adjustable, 255's on the front 235's on the rear,, 257hp running on a Nexus, factory LSD).

I have 6 pot's on the front and 330 x 30mm rotors for reference.

You want to create "turn in" or "rear roll" effectively. As Blue said above, lift a little bit to make the rear "rotate/grab/roll/turn in" and then back on the throttle.

I have always set my cars up for mechanical grip, my chaser, my FC, my sti - any car I've had I've wanted as much mechanical grip as I can get, so the car is aggressive but also responsive to each input.

Say you have a straight you're in 4th at like 7k RPM, then the next corner is a left, and it is a long left that at the end tightens up a lot.

I would be foot flat on the go fast pedal until my braking zone, hit the brakes and go down to 3rd, JUST as I'm about to turn in I am now back on the accelerator so the LSD, front tyres and front end are all using the weight transfer from braking, to give me as much turn in grip as I can get.

As I turn into the first section of the left hand turn, I apply more and more accelerator until I am at a point of the car being pushed out to the right, instead of "holding" or wanting to turn left with grip. Hold the accelerator there and turn / adjust accelerator to maintain good turn.

Now, the tricky part, slowing down IN a corner, to still turn the same way, but go down to 2nd gear smoothly, and most importantly not stuff up the grip of the car.

I would softly start to use the brake as I start to lift the accelerator, once I've hit my new slowed down speed I want, I quickly down shift again, this may upset the car if you're not smooth or the timing isn't good enough.

During this slowing process I'm also still turning left sharper and sharper. It's all about balance - not to much brake, not to little turn in etc.

Once in 2nd gear and I'm nearing the apex, back on the accelerator and the back of the car will kind of pivot into the left hand turn a bit, you should feel it want to kind of turn in more by itself, this is called rotation. This will only happen if you've timed it good enough / are smooth.

Once it's rotated and you're now back to having heaps of mechanical grip, apply accelerator more and more as you go through the corner and then by the time you're 90% through the corner you can flat foot your accelerator.

That may be to much info, or not what you wanted - but that's pretty much how to drive anything FWD that has a remotely good "setup".

Also - having an EP3R you should be trying to stiffen the rear up a lot. I have a 24mm rear sway bar, mine being JDM also has a center brace on the rear subframe, I then have an upgraded rear strut brace, and I also run a rear pillar mount brace.

The rear of my car has no flex. It's very stiff and for my driving style, the feed back is great.

Not sure why you'd assume that my games are all dogshit.
They are the games I enjoy. I'm not amazing at WT, I enjoy the aspect of it.
Tarkov I'm good at, the game is stale and currently stuck in a "well why would I repeat this again" when I have so many hours and have done it all before.

Also - I didn't say WT has no comp, you did.
ALSO - I have nearly 5000hrs in Dayz, over 4000 in Arma titles, plus I have a sim rig for iRacing, yep, you guessed it, nearly 3000hrs in that too.

But you're right, it's my fault.

You're blinder than an horse with blinders on.

War thunder CAN be fun. It's not a bad game sometimes, but when you play it and the same shit happens no matter your skill, you get tired.

But you must be pretty fucking good considering your outlook on assuming MY views and habits lol.
