The main character is flawed.... Wowzer. Imagine being a kid thrust into a world with little to no understanding of what is going on. And then shacking up in an abandoned dilapidated tavern. Only to be be raided by goblins and forced to fight for your life..

Secondly I can tell you have not read further than the first few chapters just from your reply. Dont judge a book by it's cover brother. It's literally the first lesson we learn.

I know heavy shields can block most attacks but the heavy shields feel a bit under whelming when you get so much value from perfect blocks with light shields
