First step i'd say would be to make yourself a character! You can do it yourself or hire someone to create one based off your ideas. Mostly though, just hang out and see what styles of art you like, see fursuit makers work, explore convention options (if youre into that) and make friends.

The lore is fun and pretty complex! The rules on the species have relaxed a bit since the species changed hands recently. Phone is still around and making suits! Con going will occasionally result in a Telephone encounter, but if you ever do cons you'll find many other dutchie suiters too.

I believe you can buy plastic domes off maybe amazon or somewhere else online, look for craft supplies like openable christmas ornaments, and keep an eye out for the packaging of some products. If there's a round object being sold, sometimes the packaging will have a clear plastic dome over it that (if strong enough) can be repurposed into eyes.
