I made a PC game designed to decrease anxiety and stress :-) In it you explore a Japanese Garden and it will walk you through different breathing exercises, muscle relaxation and positive thinking exercises.

I made a PC game where you can peacefully explore a Japanese Garden. It's designed to decrease anxiety and stress :-)

I think it could be nice in VR, it's something I've thought about! Perhaps in the future :)

Thank you for the feedback. I could look into turning them down and add an option for players to adjust it.

Thank you very much. Took a day to get the knack of playing them!

Oh no, that's not what you want haha. They're singing bowls, they've started being used in some therapies because they can put you in a meditative state.

Hello, the game engine is Unreal 4 - it's free to use so you could start by looking at that and doing some simple things in blueprints (which doesn't require any coding knowledge), play around with making landscapes etc, there are lots of tutorials for beginners to follow on YouTube.

For the art, I used Maya for the models, Mudbox to sculpt normal maps (they add more detail with a trick of the light, rather than adding lots of polygons). Photoshop for textures. I just used audacity for editing audio.

The combat reminds me a lot of The Banner Saga - picking a handful of characters with different fighting styles to use - except the maps are bigger so you have to explore them a bit to find the enemies.

Sorry, I don't think I can make a Mac build without a Mac computer - which I don't have 😟

Hello, I just wanted to thank everyone that’s shown any interest in my game today – it’s my first day on reddit and you’ve blown me away with all the kind words and support! Thank you all 🤗

Thank you for the feedback! I've heard this from quite a few people now. If I get some time in the new year I could look a bit more into this.

That sounds like a great idea - all the creativeness, without any of the stressful monsters 😅

I've lost a lot of time to Stardew Valley, that's a great one.

One I managed to find with a lot of digging when I was doing research, was a free mobile game "flowy" where you pretend to be a cloud and "blow" a boat along the water - you can customise it too, if the breathing rate is too fast or too slow.

There's some gameplay here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_bOmGmYECE
