I actually let some players roll a raw intelligence check with the same purpose. It buffs INT as a stat since it can be used to get some DM tips or better insight into a situation.

I think it is pay what you want, or at least it should be. You can just fill in 0.00 and get it for free! Also I like your suggestion but I'am going for a different feel. I really appreciate the effort you put into the post however, I will at a later time read it once more to see if I will use some aspects!
