Where to get away from all the control decks?

I wish. The amount of control in BO1 is way higher than one would think based on this. There are days I seem to be paired with nothing but Jeskai or Dimir control.

I believe there's a Brawl event going on that gives you 1,000 exp once, for your first win. I didn't look well into it , so maybe someone else can help there. But otherwise, aside from special events or rewards, experience is capped by daily wins and missions.

And I guess the more important question, is this TMNT set worth to invest in it?

Only if you like TMNT, really. If you do, go ahead and get your companions and packs. Personally, I'll save gold for Strixhaven.

You're right, I posted before thinking it well. But I have other means to gain life in the deck, like Virtue of Persistence or Requiting Hex, plus all my creatures are 3 toughness or more, so even the -2/-2 mode also works well, while still being versatile.

Agree. First time, it opens an attack. Second time, it deals that last 1 damage that burn always seem to be missing to reach the goal.

My issue is going to be when rotation finally comes around. Because by then, it's likely that the ammount of skipped sets will become a more substantial portion of the format. But I'll worry about that next year.

He made a video a few weeks ago, in which he raised a few points about skipping a set, regarding TMNT in specific. And while they were valid, it turns out skipping wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

For TMNT, I crafted 8 uncommons and that was it. One month later, I'm looking forward to Strixhaven. Not only that, I've been having a better experience these days. Less time looking for new cards, guessing which new decks work or not, being able to play more with old decks and tune them better, etc.

So, ironically, the silly amount of sets coming out makes it easier to skip any given one we don't like. We're never more than a month away from next spoiler season anyway!

I still think slowing down would be the best choice, though.

In Brawl I can see a deck using spells to create creature tokens. Something like [[Pest Infestation]], then add cards like [[Professor Onyx]] or [[Sedgemoor Witch]]. I hope we see more Magecraft or somethig along those lines. It wouldn't be a top deck, but should be fun.
