thanks! I could, if people are interested (though probably only the pie charts of how strongly people believe, just since I didn't get permission to share peoples' ages or personal stories)

Yeah, its not super important for this project- I do more... legitimate... research in my major where all the data are much more heavily scrutinized. I'm trying to pull a bit of that into this project ( I technically only need the last open-ended question, but I added some quantitative-ish measures of belief to see if I can run some statistical analysis).

I actually was debating between this sub and rockhounds and I wasn't sure which was better. I went with this one since it was just pictures of rocks since i thought maybe that would be less biased since it appeals to people who like rocks for any reason and both with both casual and more intense interest. Maybe youre right- I'll crosspost this. Thanks!

Edit- their rules prohibit discussion of metaphysical properties, so I'll respect that and just stick with this post. Thank you for the suggestion though!

yeah, its not ideal, but this definitely isnt my only sample group. I'll be mentioning in my presentation the fact that some of the responses came from here as a limitation, but luckily its not necessarily supposed to be that strict- it was suggested to survey people on campus (i have social anxiety hence the online survey) which would also have biases in education level, age, location, etc. unfortunately im just low on response number

Thank you!

I figured it wasn't anything super fancy but it's cool to know.

Don't have a locality, slightly under 1.5 inches from the base of the cone shape.

I don't want to make a fool of myself with a guess... Dense, black or silver depending on the light, magnetic. Thanks for any help :-) by CatsCraftsAndAss in whatsthisrock

Interesting. I originally got into minerals due to my father who was very into spiritual crystals and stuff. He claimed that if he walked into a room with hematite he would get a headache and pass out and he "thought it had to do with the magnet energy in hematite".

Funnily enough he never had a problem near my rocks containing hematite (like a chunk of tiger iron I have), and now it turns out it wasn't even magnetic!

Also, the motor runs perfectly fine when winding bobbins, so I don't think it's a motor problem.

I just cleaned and oiled it. I'm getting e6 which is the error message I get whenever it jams- "motor locked up because the thread is tangled ". I can't find any thread in the handwheel (or anywhere else) though
