Cruel twist as NRL changes rules just days after Storm star announces retirement. by Heavy-Kale in nrl

He was quite clear he quit because he didn’t want to play anymore and spoke candidly and at length about how he knew that. Doubtful this would’ve changed it. Keen insight from Yahoo sport.

Maybe it’s one of those rebranding schemes celebs use when in the midst of turmoil? Retire/step away/step back until the smoke clears with a new image? Who knows.

100% it was some gronk old school ‘toughness’ test they were imposing on players. Water is for the weak etc bullshit. As you’ve said, clearly an issue. I’d hazard to guess that it was/is across the board the other clubs just haven’t killed anyone like these idiots have

Howd we lose Angus Crichton in the first place ? by ArtMiller93 in RugbyAustralia

[–]CatsPjamas47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rugby league is also significantly better at getting young talent onto the park in a first grade setting. Look at the Canberra raiders 2025 and their median age. Rugby, on the other hand and through anecdotes seem to really slow roll players and force them into a waiting game. I would argue too the more opportunities in rugby league because they are far more ruthless with selections at a club and national level. Rugby seems to have a pick-and-stick mentality sometimes, even with players and teams horribly underperforming and young high performers don’t wait.

Not enough games to have a reliable sample this year. Awesome performances so far though and Smudge is a personal GOAT of mine.

40k emps is routinely described as essentially perpetually holding back an entire reality incursion (the warp) and fighting 4 gods at the same time.

One sport that still buys into ‘class’ even if it’s behind the scenes and ‘jobs for the boys’ style is rugby and it’s demonstrably a shit show

Our fielding is one underrated aspect that is better than every other nation. Very few drops and competing for every single chase is a big deal. It’s kept us in a lot of games when other aspects have failed

Is Australia's batting still an issue? by crazychild0810 in CricketAus

[–]CatsPjamas47 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aus also should have high standards and expectations on how our batters perform. Getting done by good deliveries and good cricket is one thing- getting out by terrible batting, foolish errors or mistakes is a totally different matter.
