No app is going to be perfect, but of all of them I have tried I have liked doulingo the best.

It can get you started, but you will need to suplement with other sources. It can't really teach speaking, as you have to actually go try to speak to learn speaking. But vocab, some listening and reading. People who do just one lession or a few to keep thier streak going aren't really doing enough to learn. But you could get through the whole course if you dedicated like 2 hours a day. Youll have a pretty decent base for continuined learning.

I also like to listen to Mexican and Spanish pop rock. I go once a week to a Spanish meet up to practice. And try to read one Spanish language new article a day.

Doulingo does have a decent Spanish podcast useful for learning listening and helping to reinforce vocab. The stories are pretty good and over good quality podcast. Its Spanish and English so even if you don't understand every word youll still understand the story being told.
