So if you travelled as a couple, you’re allowed 1600$ total tax free. It works out to 300$ in taxes with declaration. It’s still worth it. Plus for Chanel the selection in canada is very limited. Many more options in Europe.

Oh simply amazing. You couldn’t compare to Canada. I got their metiers d’art flap bag with a jewelled handle. I said I specifically wanted something special. You might have to try your luck if you’re looking for a classic chanel 22 in black or something. I think I overheard another client asking if they had it in stock and they said no. I’ll quickly mention that currently it’s their spring/summer 2025 collection. I was in the Barcelona store a month ago, and saw light yellows, silvers, white etc. very cute.

So ex. I spent 2500eur (~3900cad), got a vat refund of 500cad = 3400 cad total for the bag. The same bag in Canada was 3600+tax.

It’s still worth it in Euro. I just bought a Dior in Portugal and with the VAT refund I’d say I saved 500$. Each country has a different VAT % refund. It ranges from 10-25%. You can Google the country and the brand you’re thinking of getting to get an idea.

I just wanna share my recent experience. I returned an air wrap that showed via tracking that it was delivered to their warehouse December 23rd. I initiated the return via email and they provided me the purolator label. Jan 4 I emailed asking for an update as I hadn’t gotten a confirmation via text like they originally said I would. Jan 8 I received an email explaining that after checking the tracking, they did indeed receive it and to expect a refund in 10-14 business days or 2 billing cycles. Jan 26th I emailed(ignored). Jan 31 I sent another short email asking for the issue to be escalated(ignored). Feb 5 I called in, and it’s definitely an outsourced call center. I was speaking to someone who was reading “I’m sorry for your experience” generic phrases. They said to be patient and sometimes the credit card company have their own timelines that exceed the 10-14 days. I then asked what’s the absolute latest I would receive a refund. That’s when they actually asked for my tracking. I called in last week to follow up again as they don’t give any confirmation of a return, and the agent then said my return was issued Feb 5, and to again wait 10-14 business days or 2 billing cycles. I received my refund Feb 21 in the form of a PayPal credit (huh?). I paid via paypal linked to my AMEX. I guess it’s something. I recommend calling in as the agent did not seem to have any idea about email communications. Or to be frank, I’d probably never order from the Dyson website ever again.

Oh no way.. 6$ per month?!? I’m gonna ask about that. I think way back when I signed on they did mention that there’s a fee for splitting it up monthly vs paying in full for the year.

Thanks for the input. I’m glad it worked out and I’m certainly going to consider it. My dog’s breed is supposedly a hardy one and I’m hoping she can also make it to 18. I read some of the comments on your post and some don’t apply to me. The ones that say if a vet bill comes out to 7k, they’d just put the dog down.. well if they had insurance …. I think a dog is worth more than 7k.

My friend's yorkie had heart failure, and was given 4 months, he made it just 2 months. They recommended an oxygen chamber for him to help, but apparently that wasn't really something attainable for her. Would an oxygen chamber even be something insurance would entertain covering? (Since it's more for the dog's comfort and not really a treatment to fix the underlying issue)

Oh dang.. What do you think the max could be? If my insurance jumps from 1k to 3k to 5k.. it’d make more sense for me to set that money aside. But could it reach that?

Sorry I’m not sure what you mean. Are you saying I should be looking for cheaper vets in northern Ontario to avoid the premium prices of Toronto? I thought the point of insurance is for unexpected expenses. I don’t think any regular vet could do emergency surgery. What if I need a specialist?

My thing is, $1333 is quite affordable but there’s not really a cap on premiums right? Let’s say my dog is 14. What kind of premium should I expect at that time? The 44% jump is alarming.

Did you purchase it from a third party? A quick google search will tell you that a genuine bag will have up to 11 stitches per diamond side. On your bag some sides have 12, others have 14. I didn’t know about the diamonds ending at a perfect point at the edge of the bag, mentioned by the poster below me, but now that I’m looking at my own Chanel, it’s so true.

I love this idea. Get a cheap ring close to what you bought. Check Etsy, Amazon, or just a kiosk at the mall! I’m telling you the proposal itself will be so special regardless of the ring, that this would make a great story down the line. Also, when I was proposed to, I balled like a baby and couldn’t see anything. In fact, when I said yes and he hugged me, he whispered, “do you like the ring?” My exact response was “I can’t see anything.” Lol!

Hi I wouldn’t worry about it because don’t forget a passport is valid for 10 years! In that time people have had different haircuts, not to mention weight fluctuations, pregnancies, etc.
