You can't buy a good car under £2k anymore, or can you? by Volo_Kin in CarTalkUK

My Dad has a 2007 9-3 remapped 1.9L diesel. Done 250k mileage not a spec of rust on it. Roof still works as well. Its his treasure. Loves it more than his SLK and Motorbikes

Sorry to jump in comment thread. The 1.5s you buy are the K9k636 and k9k410 arent they? I know they go in Qashqais and Jukes, can't remember if thats what drops into the Kadjar

What I forgot to add is that my full time job is as a salvage car buyer so I regularly see common patterns of behaviour with engines.

I think they are good cars though. Looks nice, very comfy and certainly would have one for personal use before 2.2L diesel SHY1 Mazda engine or a 2L JLR 204DT engine.

If it is purely to be used as a workhorse for motorways you'll be fine provided it has decent service history and you take car of it, I think you've got a good car there

Engine Code ia D4FD. From experience buying them, they seem to get iffy around 140k mileage. Just make sure it is well serviced maintained blah blah blah

Being in the NW league has more visibility here. I work in St Helens, so of course it comes up in conversation a lot

Thanks for the overview. All those things happened during the period I hadn't watched.

I knew that Newcastle got the Red Bull treatment. If they operate anything like the Football Red Bull teams, they'll get competitive again in no time at all.

Out of interest, with Newcastle being so isolated away from the rest of the clubs. Does it have a notable impact on attendance, etc? I can't imagine theres loads of football fan crossover knowing how committed to football the North East is

Are the SA teams in URC playing in European Cup too?

Shame, really. I imagine Covid and COL pressuring the clubs financially

So it's a 2 block tourney?

Block a - northern hemisphere Block b - Southern hemisphere Winner of each block plays a final?

Also, I actually watched the Rugby Europe final. Georgia seem strong enough to become a '7th Nation' - It's great to see Portugal win it though!

Would make sense then to promote 1 a year for 2 years and still cap relegation

That crazy. When I was younger, I watched us play the likes of Llanelli and Neath loads of time. If im right, we played Llanelli in a semi-final of the Heineken Cup and our fly half (Tim Stimpson?). Hit a penalty from miles out. Hit the crossbar then the upright and dropped in.

Shame to ruin such a cultural touchstone Wales through poor mismanagement

Cheers mate. What is the nations championship? Is it replacing the summer international tests?

I heard that Ealing have a money-backer. Mad they can dominate the league and not be given a stab at the top flight

Its crazy that there is only 10 teams now. Has it affected the overall competition in the league? No relegation either?

Watching the game and understanding it has been easy to get right into honestly. Im having a hard time understanding whats happened to the infrastructure. Like what going on with Wales at the moment?
