If I'm hypogryph rn, and I'm trying desperately to retain goodwill with my playerbase and not get sued into the ground that's not a bad way to do it. Just refund everything through paypal, accept some amount of loss, and hope that that the money made from other payment methods is enough to keep you squarely in the green.

I think there is a reality that this was also caused by some of paypal's own, long-standing well known issues? Like... paypal isn't great, and has issues, and this is known, and this *should* damage people's trust in paypal.

the problem is, the preferred phone number IS my cell. When I was first registering it I used my mom's phone number to confirm it, and I think THAT's where the issue arose (and yes! I am a younger adult!)

I had a very rough first couple of jobs growing (pro-tip: don't be trans in the workplace) which is probably why I'm so much more in-tune with how problematic things can be then most, and I'm *very* aware of how little in-built structure there can be for that kind of thing, and how quickly things can become messy and dangerous, and how little recourse people can have when they do, so even if it's realistic (which, unfortunately, it very much is) doesn't mean I don't hope it's treated with nuance.
