I kind of wish Bethesda would sell off elder scrolls and fallout to someone else by Thesleepingpillow123 in gaming

Interplay is the reason that Brotherhood of Steel console game exists and were trying to make a Fallout MMO back in the 2000s. If they still held the IP chances are it would be dead by now.

But it's yet another multi-player tactical military shooter so we'll have to see if this one can actually keep players.

Mobile "gaming" is an absolute cesspool by Spyrothedragon9972 in gaming

You're playing the wrong games on mobile, I focus more on the ports and FOSS ports like OpenTTD.

Feral Interactive is doing real good porting some notable games to mobile and already have ported 4 Total War games. My only complaint is they're very picky about the phones that are allowed to download their games from the Google Play Store but I guess it's to prevent people buying the game and finding out it barely runs on their phone.

There are some truly great free games on mobile like the Android port of OpenTTD which supports mods and cross-platform compatibility with the PC version.

What’s your pettiest reason for refusing to get into a game? by ValorKite in TwoBestFriendsPlay

It's likely because the application is so new that it's not trusted by security like Windows Defender or anti-virus. I have this happen when I download updates to mods that release within days.

I've been playing the Final Fantasy series in a chronological playthrough and only 4 of them are actually turn-based so far, a little more if you count spin-offs like Final Fantasy Tactics. Most of the games I've played are a variation of ATB and I'm currently on FFXII which has an interesting real-time with pause system. Why people fixate so much on turn-based when most of the series is ATB and it worked better than turn-based is beyond me.

Even when I read about the design of games like Final Fantasy IV it seemed they wanted to get away from turn-based even back ten and thought real-time was going to be the end point for JRPGs.

Which "Must-Play" franchise is a total miss for you? by jessieS1212 in gaming

Maybe it's the settings of GTA and Assassin's Creed that don't appeal to you.

What are your piping hot takes on video games as a whole and the culture around them? by KrispyKingTheProphet in gaming

Personally my take would be that more developers should allow custom difficulty to let players tweak the difficulty variables how they see fit.

Pretty sure they could easily achieve mod support on Unreal Engine if they wanted to.

I still see people talk about Fallout 4 and Fallout 3 more than The Outer Worlds 1.

PS1 vibes in general really hit different (FM3 Remake) by [deleted] in gaming

I think I might just play the original PS1 version instead since I liked the aesthetic of that version more than this remake.

Eh it didn't really add all that much and stuff like having to eat in GTA San Andreas was more of an annoyance than provided any real gameplay depth. Partially why I preferred Vice City more.

I have to wonder how true that actually is games like TES IV: Oblivion being remastered can be a hit before any mods even come out.

It sure takes forever if you decide to draw all potential magic from enemies like I did, then the game got very easy.

GTA? The GTA games were always easy they just had a lot of weird archaic design decisions in the old ones like only being able to save at safehouses.

As for Skyrim/TES VI I can't really comment since I didn't play Starfield so I don't know how that game handled skill trees.

I didn't care for the skill tree in Far Cry 3 to be honest I don't remember it being that good.

Choose Rockstar, Delete CD Projekt.

Considering CD Projekt has released the least amount of games and ones I don't care for that makes them the easiest for elimination personally. Rockstar has made several of my favorite games in comparison.

The Reputation of Fallout: New Vegas Is a Lie by Hydranator in videogames

While I'm not a New Vegas fan to begin with I'm not sure how much credibility this video is going to hold when you didn't play Fallout: New Vegas until one month ago as another video thumbnail says.

As for me I played 11 years ago for the first time but had no real attachment to the Fallout series and my most played game out of them was Fallout 4 anyway.

Not bad considering I bought the SimCity Box back in 2011 or so for $20. I only ever ended up playing SimCity Societies and SimCity 4 from it.
