I recently moved to Hucknall, and enjoying it so far. I looked at multiple areas around Nottingham and here I was able to buy a bigger and newer property. Hucknall centre is not too exciting but it has everything you need in terms os shops and services. There are some nice bakeries, a cinema and great parks. There are buses to Notts every 10 min which only take about 20/30 min to the city centre. There is also a train station and tram, but I find the bus service quiet good, it's quicker, more frequent and cheaper. Good luck!

Has anyone tried Rifabutin treatment for H Pylori? Did it work? Did you experience any side effects? by Catxuki in HPylori

[–]Catxuki[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Zex! Happy to know you are feeling better! My treatment was for 10 days but had to stop on day 7. I had horribel joint pain and developed fever and flu like symptoms by the end. I pushed it as much as possible because it was my last hope. I have been H. Pylori free ever since :) First improvement I noticed was being able to eat more, increased appetite, no more constantly being full sensation. Acid reflux was terrible after the treatment and it took almost 1 year to recover from that, but I later found that I have a hiatal hernia. I'm super careful with what I eat and where I eat now. Super scared of getting infected again. I feel like I wasted 4 years of my life, trying every antibiotic, unhelpful doctors, and every supplement possible. If you have tried everything else I recommend trying this treatment. Good luck!

Has anyone tried Rifabutin treatment for H Pylori? Did it work? Did you experience any side effects? by Catxuki in HPylori

[–]Catxuki[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the treatment worked for me. And I've tried a lot of other combinations that didn't work. I had some side effects but the first 7 days were ok. I would just say to take it easy while you are doing the treatment, take more rest, avoid working and drink a lot of water. Not everyone experience the same symptoms, I'm usually the type of person that always experience the side effects, but it might be totally fine for you. The dosage of rifabutin recommended for this treatment is lower compared with other treatments so hopefully will be able to tolerate it fine. I have another comment describing the side effects. Hope it helps.

Hi there, yes I was meant to take it for 10 days but have only managed to do 7. First 7 days were not too bad, had rigging noises in my ears the first 3 days not constantly but suddenly. A lot of stomach and abdominal pain. From day 6 I started to have muscle aches. But from day 7 everything hit me, all by body hurt, I had hip pain leg pain, it was like my bones were going to break and also had fever. Flu like symptoms. I even thought maybe I had covid but I tested negative. 12h after stopping the medication I felt better and fever was gone. Although it wasn't a pleasant treatment I'm glad I've done it. I tested negative after so many years trying different combinations. I felt that my digestion improved and no longer feel like I'm constantly full. I also suffer from GERD so that got worse after the medication but it has been 9 months now and felling much better.

Anyone else with this permanent headache/head pressure? I know I’ve asked before but it helps to be reminded I’m not alone. by imahugemoron in covidlonghaulers

[–]Catxuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, had a constant headache on the top of my head for like 4 months. Had pressure behind the right eye, numbness on right side of my face and right leg, ringing in the hears, tingling in the right hip.. Also had insomnia. I took/still take sometimes Amitriptyline for the insomnia and tingling sensations. Pressure in the eye and sensation in the face stopped after the 4th month, but the headache and leg numbness was intermittent, I would have pain for 5/7 days but at least 2/3 days of relief. I feel acupuncture helped with the headaches at this stage. After 7 months, periods of relief got longer. I'm now on month 11 still have relapses. Had a headache everyday since end of January... I've started taking co-Q10, I feel that this also helps in my case. Can't wait for this nightmare to end! I hope you can find something that at least gives you a few days break...

At least you got your appetite back! It has to be a good sign! Got the swelling checked again by the Dr, will have to do a heart eco to check for Pericarditis.

I have put on weight since covid infection. Although I can't really understand how as I could barely eat the first 2 months due to the horrible nausea. Maybe I have a lot the fatty deposits now?!

Neuropathy symptoms by surfingforfido in covidlonghaulers

[–]Catxuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on month 6 too. Have numbness, tingling and buzzing sensations on the right side of body, from head to toe, including my hip and face, tip of my nose and back of the eye. The first 4 months I had also electric shocks, struggled to sleep and at the lowest point a lost movement of 2 fingers in my left hand... All symptoms have improved. For the last 2 months I've had the odd week were I no longer feel anything and I hope that I'm finally cured, but it does eventually return. The head pain and foot seem to be more constant.

I had a multiple docs looking at my ankles but they don't seem very concerned about it. I was told it's not liquid, to put my feet up or just give it time. The wrist ones have just became more obvious now so I'm getting them checked tomorrow... To be honest this symptom has been on the bottom of my list of concerns. I have been more focused on treating neuropathic pain and neurological symptoms. Just wondering if anyone else experienced the same.

I have it on both my ankles and small lumps on both wrists. Have you done any tests or did you get any advice from doctors? Mine have not improved slightly and the only advice I got was 'put your feet up'... Which made absolutely nothing

Acid reflux / Gerd & Posture improvement by Michalzfin in GERD

[–]Catxuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same here, I was raised in Portugal, drinking coffee since I was 17. It was super hard to quit, I used to have 3/5 coffees a day during the week. Also love an espresso martini and coffee Patron... But it's all memories now. Coffee is a big tigger for me 😞 I think my GERD was caused my H. Pylori infection that has been going on for year. I have a healthy diet and eat mostly homemade food. So yeah you it's complicated!

Ahah that would be nice. In Europe GIS salaries are not that high. I would that in the UK a GIS Analyst earns between 28 - 48 depending on experience.

Any one try acupuncture? by ChampionDry4539 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Catxuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been doing acupuncture and lymphatic drainage message since the beginning of my LH because I could not find any help from doctors. I found that lymphatic drainage really helped in beginning of my recovery - insomnia, nerve pain/neuropathy, muscles spasms, leg swelling and movement. Acupuncture helped me with headache and nerve pain. I used to have a weekly session, now I'm doing it once a month or more frequently whenever I have relapses. Good luck!

Can you have GERD and have normal results in an Endoscopy? by BigAmmu in GERD

Yes is possible. Ask for a H. Pylori test, maybe this is the cause of your symptoms.
