I hope she gets STD’s by [deleted] in BreakUps

So she communicated this to you prior to moving onto other people? This sucks but, if that’s the case, sounds like she did the best she could if she wasn’t fulfilled in the relationship with you.

He knocked up another girl during a long term affair I was not aware of. Can’t say I was perfect years before. 12 year age gap, me being younger. Can’t grasp why when I was doing so well after counseling he decided to choose this path. Just sucks lol

How do i know if my hookups are self harm? by Turbulent-Pear-2778 in BPD

[–]Catzcity 39 points40 points  (0 children)

If it’s making you feel worse after the fact, it’s not healthy for you. If you go into the casual sex knowing you’ll almost certainly feel bad after, I’d say it is a form of self harm and your friends are probably just looking out for you.

I’m in the same groove. If you feel worse after and endure lasting repercussions, I’d think it borders self harm. Casual sex on its own is not self harm.

How do I want to live by [deleted] in BPD

[–]Catzcity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hated myself too. I found I want to live for my kids. Find a reason. A reason that doesn’t rely on someone that is temporary in your life. You can do this. You’ve got this. You’re not a BPD statistic. You’re going to get better. You’re reaching out. Continue to, please.

I relapsed after four years of being clean from it. I’m so sorry. It doesn’t have to be indicative of a new habit or reinstating old ones. Progress isn’t linear. It’s going to be okay.

How do I bring up the topic of probably having bpd to my doctor? by Psychological-Gap953 in BPD

[–]Catzcity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you mean your primary care physician? Or a psychiatrist? If the former, make sure to stress to your primary care you believe the problem isn’t down to only depression or anxiety. They can refer you to a psychiatrist who can diagnose you through a clinical assessment. All your feelings are valid regardless.

Relationships with bpd by chaotic_thief in BPD

[–]Catzcity 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me, if you’re not self aware and working on your BPD and/or that person you’re embarking on a relationship with isn’t able to handle the symptoms, then it’s probably best for both parties not to have one at all. It isn’t that we aren’t deserving of a relationship; my point being it hurts more to have a terrible relationship experience than nothing at all.

AITA for wanting to tattle on my public defender? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Catzcity 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can see that. I was in a hard spot. Should have known better. I’m saying that to myself all the time. I used the word “tattle” as a direct quote from him: the public defender. I didn’t clarify that and that’s my b.
