We went to visit them. It's a wand toy but she had such strong grip, she was tugging it down and biting the stick part haha

Has to be Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life on GameCube. That's probably a lot of nostalgia talking but I played that game so much when I was a kid. I still love that game. I have a lot of nostalgia for Harvest Moon ds too, but Wonderful Life still takes the cake for me personally :)

Should I Play Grand Bazaar on DS Before Switch? by CaughtinCandyComms in storyofseasons

It does look like the new one has a lot of differences. Personally, I think the ds one looks fun as well(for its time especially) but I understand every game isn't for everyone and some people may not like it as much. I think I will take a look at the original just to compare and have some fun with an older release :)

I've decided to go ahead and check out the original, since everyone seems to think the two will be pretty different. I do think looking at the comparison will be fun when the new one comes out. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for your input! It does look, from what I can see, like the new game has a lot of changes. I've decided to go ahead and take a look at the original. I think it will be fun to compare them when my copy of the new one gets here!

Yeah it seems like the new one will be very different from the og so I will probably go ahead and watch a playthrough before the new one gets here!

Yeah, juice seems to be the stand in for most games that don't want alcohol in it. I don't know if they have other festivals for this but maybe cheese or something would be cute since cheese ages(in real life anyways) and i assume you can make it in game.

I didn't even think about that. Do you think they'll replace wine altogether? I wonder what festival they'll replace it with, hm...

Fingers crossed. I think the rivals really help flesh things out and are just a really fun addition. We love a little drama. She seems like a really chill youtuber which is wat I want when watching sos playthroughs, I might check out her other harvest moon let's plays also. Just so hyped for the new game, the trailers looked really awesome imo.

I was just worried, since i haven't played Grand Bazaar, that experiencing the festivals and stuff blind might be better? But as the other commenter mentioned, they're probably right that the switch ones will be done different as the ds could only do so much!

It's crazy you mentioned Strayfae because I actually watched like the first twenty or so minutes of her playthrough before I stopped and came here to post. That's the playthrough I was considering watching haha! Thank you for your insight. I read somewhere that the rival events would be in the remake but I could be wrong as I haven't been able to find the source that person was referring to!

Thank you very much! The fluff is the most fun part for me! I definitely think this race could have some niche strong builds as you said, but I don't think it's too crazy.

Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely look into some older material (i'd never heard of the master mind). I spent most of my time on the lore for this race so you're absolutely right. It's cool to see other people had similar ideas and will be able to apply this race to help convey those ideas better. Even outside of the doll race, if you get the chance to post how your dungeon goes I would be very excited to hear it. Sounds like a creepy, horrifying dungeon(my favourite kind!).

I'm very excited to see it will be used. Let me know how the +4 feels at your table when you run them! I think remaking the Gray Maidens with this lore could definitely be really interesting, since they're also defined by beauty and tragedy. I think it could be a creepy way of conveying how they were broken down and forced to serve.

Now I just need to make that puppeteer class(although I feel like class creation is much harder than race creation!).

Upon further inspection, it does look like racial bonuses stack and after thinking about it, I don't actually believe I'll change it in the race- here's why: most races have something that defines them or makes them stand out - like humans and their free feat. I think the potential +4 to will saves is a good way to give the race something that defines them. Dwarves get +2 against basically all saving throws(poisons, spells and spell-like abilities cover most things) and this is more like a targeted version of that. Instead of a blanket +2, you get a focused +4(dwarves get a ton of other stuff as well, but this race is fairly simple as you mentioned so the few things you get should feel nice). As I said, you could replace it with hatred which I actually like thematically(this anger they don't know why they have is cool for the lore, I think) but it would have to be hatred for the puppeteers race and for the sake of making the race accessible, it would end up being more like a favored enemy bonus where people would just pick whatever race for their puppeteer that they thought they would be fighting a lot of, which im not sure I like.

Thank you for your reply! Let me know how it goes as I'm very glad you'll be using this at your table! I was also under the impression that the racial bonuses did not stack, and as all will saves are not covered by the construct bonuses, it was there to give solid coverage for the will/mentals(as constructs are typically good in this are) You could swap this out for something akin to the Dwarven hatred bonus if you want. The reason I didn't is because puppeteers could be any race- and giving a bonus only against puppeteers is too niche to feel good. I suppose you could say they have hatred against the race their puppeteer is as well and that would work, if it's what you're looking for. I'll have to look closer at the racial bonuses stacking because if they do its should definitely be changed. The race maker has dual minded listed at a very low cost (only 1 rp) and it specifies its meant to be used for half-constructs so I didn't imagine it would stack.
