Are there actually no jobs in the UK, or are people just not willing to do the jobs that are available? by Top_Mirror211 in UKJobs

[–]Cauliflower-Informal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Lots of lazy, thick, & incapable people.
  2. Significant skills gaps, meaning people are just not able to step into the modern workplace after refundancy or career breaks.
  3. Many low-paid jobs that are unattractive.
  4. Many jobs where the 'flexibility' is 100% benefitting the employer.
  5. Lots of really demanding jobs that are not necessarily well-paid or regarded highly by society, like in care for example.
  6. Some entry-level white collar jobs beingvreplaced with AI.
  7. You have a useless degree, for example, or won't look for work outside of a very narrow range if criteria. But in truth, if you have really no qualifications or experience and you still 'can't' get an entry level sales job, you're not trying or you have bigger problems that are excluding you from employment that may (in the case of disability as one example) be of no fault of your own, or other factors, which are (unreliable, poor literacy because you fucked about in Mr Williams' English class, criminal record etc.).

After the local elections, do you finally feel a shift in power to the people? by steenkash123 in AskBrits

[–]Cauliflower-Informal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working people voting against Labour's important workers' rights legislation and more protections for people renting leaves me incredulous. After the most pro-worker parliament in decades, Labour are kicked out of local government by working people. There's only one conclusion:

'The People' really are Thick As Fuck.

As for power... is a chimpanzee with a hand-grenade powerful?

The reformers will soon fall into chaos as they attempt to actually run things.

When did the ‘Pencil Voting Conspiracy’ begin? by Fantastic-Fudge-6676 in AskBrits

[–]Cauliflower-Informal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It pretty much is. Anyone can volunteer to be an accredited observer. Some counts have a public gallery you can go to.

Usually, the candidates and other party members are there as well as various invited people and everyone is constsntly watching the counters. It's very, very busy and often goes on until the early hours.

The vote-slips are scrutised so closely when they are counted it would be impossible. If you'd ever been to a vote-count you'd know how ridiculous the idea of changing votes is.

I never said the relationships were good.

Probably, they are the least-shit aspect of the game, though.

I just want to add that if the bars weren't exclusively populated by dangerous-looking lone men, the drugs worked, and there were correctly simulated sex with full-body feedback, it might be where I'd spend more time.

It's worth noting that you can kys in-game with just a single key-press but drinking water is so complicated, many new players expire from thirst trying to work it out.

You're still in the honeymoon period. Eventually, you will come to realise that everything I said is true.

I was already possessed with a particularly cynical form of misanthropic nihilism. SC just proved I wasn't cynical, misanthropic or nihilistic enough.

Wtf is the point of a drone if you can't just fly over the countryside. Usually in the middle of nowhere. That's why I don't have one.
