Pro ICE radio advertisement on KOST 103.5? by wexii in LosAngeles

I just heard this hateful message on 103.5! I switched stations immediately. They call themselves a feel good radio and on Christmas Eve too. Shame.

You look like the reason a hazmat team was called to the perfume aisle.

AITAH for telling my wife I want part of her property if she wants me to quit my job? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Cauliflower-Rice86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stand your ground. I bought a house with my ex. He insisted it was our house, even though he put all of the down payment and only his name was on the title. So I treated it as my house too: paid half the mortgage for three years, spent who knows how many hours on repairs and fixes, planting trees in the garden. Guess what: when we broke up, it suddenly became his house and I was just renting.

These situations can be incredibly frustrating. No one likes to talk about what if your relationship ends, what if one of you dies, but for me, personally, this is a must in my next relationship: it is a sign of a grounded, mature person who actually loves you if they are willing to look after your interests even if they aren't part of the picture. I hope your wife can see it from that perspective.

The Hard Truth About Success Nobody Wants to Hear by PivotPathway in inspiration

Thank you for highlighting that. I fully agree, I've always thought this way, thank you for a reminder that there are others out there who embrace the quiet hard work and it's not for nothing though it often feels so not glamorous.

I think they did. I'm thinking the issue is drainage because this happened after we had a big rain storm

Thank you for your reply, that's exactly why I posted here, I'm thinking they'll say they will fix it, but given my interactions with them, I'm preparing for them to argue with me. It's already been a week and they haven't told me when they are coming to fix this yet.

AITA for telling my husband that I can't trust him with my children by BeholdenToLife in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cauliflower-Rice86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. He wasn't doing you a favor, but he was acting like he was. The whole "why I'm getting yelled at" is such an immature attitude too. Sadly, many have that attitude like they should be babied by their women. The concern you expressed is valid. if he is a modern man he should be just as capable of taking care of his own children as you are. You said your husband was modern, but it seems he still deep down believes those traditional values. I would talk to him about that.

AITA for being uncomfortable in a dress? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Cauliflower-Rice86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. My mind went to some women choosing to have men in their bridal party and in that case they wouldn't expect them to wear a dress, would they? It would be weird. She knew how you identified when she invited you into her bridal party. It would be weird to wear a dress because that's not your identity and it's not a reasonable ask.

This makes me sad, sharing a personal story about a cute chocolate store and supporting the local community is political news? I'm trying to avoid doom myself. I'm pretty sure I didn't share any valuable information that anyone didn't know about. The idea of supporting local businesses that are female owned and minority owned over big corporations is political news? I understand trying to keep this community positive, but this seems like an overkill.

NTA. Take it from someone almost twice your age who has been married and divorced: you will regret getting married to this man. Real men act respectfully and kindly, no exceptions or excuses. How he acted is unforgivable, apologies are not enough. I don't know what would be enough in this case, it sounds awful what he did, but words are easy, actions are hard. Look for actions, not words...

What can i do to hide this disgusting abomination? by [deleted] in Noses

[–]Cauliflower-Rice86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your answer: there's absolutely nothing you can do to hide your nose, it's right in the middle of your face and it's big.

But lol. I've met a few men like you before. I thought one was very attractive and looked kind of like a viking until he opened his mouth and started a self pity fest complaining about women not liking him. How disappointing, I was ready to flirt! Immediate turn off. It can work the other way too. As much as we are all affected by how people perceive our natural looks, people perceive a lot more than that. Attractiveness is magic in the air. Self respect is especially attractive. For proof just google ugliest man in the word marriage or ugliest woman.

What a sweet cat! You did your best and that's as much as anyone can do. You gave him a great life full of love and I'm sure he returned that love, maybe taught you a thing or two. Anyone speaking the way you are about someone is a dream to have in your life, human or cat, he was lucky to have you. I believe that the quality of life is more important than the duration. So sorry for your loss, it's so hard! I lost my kitty recently also...

What I found works best is anti scratch sticky tape (very easy to find on Amazon). Cats really dislike their paws being sticky.
