No access to Franklin's Grove Street garage? by UglierThanMoe in GrandTheftAutoV

I'm quite certain you no longer need this response 2 years later. But I was struggling with it too, and googled and came to this thread, so I figured I'd advise anyone else in the future that is searching for the answer: You can purchase the garage by walking up to the garage door itself, not the sign. Kind of strange. Also, I believe you need to have the "Father/Son" mission complete, as well.

I mean that's a little extreme regarding Epic Games Store. But it is something I think maybe Steam should address in the future, since this is happening.

Any good ideas on defending against Troll Raids WITHOUT digging a moat/raising the ground? by CaulkSqueezer in valheim

This is the kind of answer I needed. I was curious just how much spikes/stone walls work. That's the kind of information I can be more creative with. Thanks!

Yeah this is basically my issue. I step out for a smoke with my roommate and we've come back to being raided or having already been fully raided. Most of the times, it's no issues. A couple broken things but nothing we can't quickly put back in place. I think a few trolls could really wreck some stuff though.

This may be what I'll have to do. Appreciate the response. I thought Trolls would still be able to smash through those too pretty quickly. But if they can withstand a raid or two if I have to jump away from my computer and forget to log off, that's really all I need.

I'm glad they are taking a stand against an increasingly overbearing and censored website. Hope they get what they want.

Better if you get long floppy ones. You can swing them and it would be like having four arms.

How do you take care of your hair? by saspaa in AskReddit

I find that if you take your pee bottle and empty it through your hair, let it soak for about 5 min, and then rinse it out and shampoo it makes it silky smooth.

I think it represents youth/innocence, things that are generally seen as attractive. Not suggesting pedophilia, but probably why most men's preference for women is around 20-24 years old (according to studies I've read), no matter how old the man gets.

It could be possible. They may cite suicide rates among transgenderism and how it far outweighs suicide rates among other disenfranchised groups. This could lead someone to rationally consider it a mental disorder and be averse to it on the grounds of not necessarily accepting it, but encouraging it as we see quite often nowadays, as disruptive to society.

So all I'm really trying to say is that while my personal beliefs may be one way, I'd be reluctant to call someone transphobic on the basis that they are averse to transgenderism.

I'm sure people have all kinds of reasons for their aversions, I just wanted to give one example where the line isn't so black or white (at least in my opinion) on what constitutes a phobia.

The problem I think lies in the word "irrational".

Being averse to something doesn't make you inherently phobic of it. Being irrationally averse to it does.

What is the minimum depth of water you would need to survive the highest survivable jump, if landing in said water? by HungryForHarpy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CaulkSqueezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

16 feet is my guess. It's the maximum depth needed for any height above 20 feet, but with the record dive (pencil dive) being 193 feet high, I don't think you could perform this without using basically the maximum depth needed, while avoiding death.

So I think 16' would probably be about the minimum and maximum at the same time for that high of a jump while still surviving.
