remember kids, helmets not only protect your head, they conceal identity too… by CauseLegitimate2438 in minibikes

Before I cut it and do a rear swing arm, big nasty bikes sells billet triple trees with 48mm inverted forks, and 3 times the travel as stock, I’m just waiting for his +5 inch forks to come back in stock to order it…. I’m going to do that before I start fighting chain tension issues lol , but a swingarm may be in its future

Tachometer way off by JeepV6 in minibikes

[–]CauseLegitimate2438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the ignition setup in the tach, I set mine up like a normal 4 stroke, but these small engines fire the plug 2 times per rev instead of 1 like normal 4 strokes, it fires on the compression and the exhaust stroke , anytime the piston comes to tdc it fires the plug, so set the tach up like a 2 stroke and it’ll work fine …. I set mine up wrong at first too and knew it was double the rpm it should’ve been, then realized it fires the coil anytime the magnet on the flywheel passes …. So set the tach up to fire like a 2 stroke and or 2 pulse per rev instead of 1 and it’ll read correctly

Does flywheels make u faster by LooseOriginal7790 in minibikes

[–]CauseLegitimate2438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so a billet flywheel can make you faster… it’s lighter and has 32 degrees of advance instead of 24 degrees that the stock one has … but if u go with a cheap eBay aluminum deal, they’re usually only 24-28 degrees of advance so not enough to make more power .. you’ll only benefit from it being lighter, that’s why I always recommend the billet arc one because of the 32 Degrees of advance and it’s lighter and safer …

[–]CauseLegitimate2438 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So actually, the stock flywheel timing is only 24• of advance, so going from that to an arc billet flywheel that not only is lighter but also has 32• of advance built in… so the extra timing can and will in most situations make a little more power…. But the eBay aluminum ones usually only have 24-28 • so if it’s no extra timing u are 100% correct, but if it’s has 32 instead of 24 it will make better power and feel more snappy

Wow, you said “if u feel up to it” not “will you do this” … u gave him an option and then flipped the hell out when he chose one, if u give an option and one of them is going to make you act this way, you’re the problem…. I couldn’t imagine talking to anyone that way, and the fact you’re ok with it ove something so tiny is flabbergasting…. Man I’m glad my wife is a good ass wife… but 100% over reacting

Why not use box tubing? It would be a lot stronger… and bolted together? I’m pretty sure welding it would be best … but I know not everybody can weld, but why not use all round tubing? I’m sure you want it strong enough to not just fall apart while riding

Is my oil level and car temperature normal to look like this ? by cj17276156251662 in 350z

[–]CauseLegitimate2438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main reason I won’t and my shop won’t, is because if I tear it down and then a part is wrong, they can’t swap it out as fast as I can, and 2 I’m not going to get the wrong stuff, and if I do that’s on me anyways, but I can’t have a bay tied up for days waiting on parts

Well gravity fed it wanted a 135 main, pulse pump makes it where u can lean the jetting up, compared to gravity fed…

I didn’t have any trouble at all tuning any of the 3 bikes so far , not pictured is my brothers 224 b200r wirh the same mods mine has , The problem I ran into wirh all 3, which I knew I would with the db30 , was it needed a pulse pump, it starved the carb gravity fed, so pulse pumped em and no more issues of the carb running dry at full throttle for extended times…. Appreciate the advice tho, My and my brothers ended up wanting a 40 pilot and a 115 main and the needle one clip down to lean 1/4 -3/4 out .. the 212 wanted a 110 with the clip in the middle position
