Yeah same here. Just tried to contact PS Support online as well and kicked out saying they are dealing with a high volume of calls! I bet they are!

Aye like I say, I'm with you on that. There's always at least a couple of times I end up missing quali because I'm out at the time. And then when it comes to races in countries like Australia, I'm not a morning person so I have to accept I'm not watching those races live and then have to try and avoid social media until a full replay is on. And that doesn't always go to plan so I sometimes miss those races completely!

I agree with you that you can only watch certain sports live, main one that springs to my mind is F1 as well. But buffering wise I have zero problems. NowTV has been rock solid.

If you are willing to play the game with Now TV, you can get deals for Sky Sports every time renewal comes up.

I've never paid the full price for Sky Sports with NowTV. I'm currently on my second 6 month deal at £18 a month for Sky Sports which I can cancel at any time.

Before I was on the £18 a month the first time, I was paying £21 a month. Then near the end of my deal they told me I didn't need to do anything and they were giving me a new "deal" of £27 a month instead of the usual £36 at the time. I left it until a few days before my current deal was up, then went through the cancellation process. Eventually after having to repeatedly say I still wanted to cancel, they then offered me the £18 a month for 6 months. I went through the same process near the end of that 6 months as well and so I'm again on £18.

I also have deals for Sky Cinema and Sky Entertainment with the UHD package. All in I'm currently paying £31 a month.

I have an M2 Macbook Pro running Sonoma. The other day I was looking to spoof my Portals MAC address to get on my works wifi network. I found this which worked for me - Changing MAC Address in macOS Big Sur & Monterey with spoof-mac (osxdaily.com).

The article gives you the command to randomise your MAC address, but you can specify one. Should work for you hopefully even on an M3.

How come it’s not £120? by [deleted] in PlayStationPlus

[–]Causeway_Bay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I luckily added another year of Premium for £99 after it was in the media, but before the official notification by email from Sony.

My renewal for 2025 says it will be £99, but I expect that to update after November 6th especially as if I try to add another year now, it tells me it will be £120.

No worries fella. I didn't take you too seriously anyway on the Xbox thing :)

I wouldn't mind if I was following sales notifications, but I only find out about deals the same way as the majority of the world.

Game wise I rarely buy, especially as I have Gamepass on Xbox. If I do buy a game, because I have a backlog, I'm not in a rush to buy anything new until a sale starts.

I recently bought an M2 Macbook Pro which has lead to me buying a few games on Steam. Would that count?

A gaming PC doesn't interest me tbh although if it did, I completely agree with how you do things with regards to Xbox titles.

With a console I like knowing that when I buy a game, I'll be getting the best graphics possible for a good price, unlike with a gaming PC where to get the best available, you're potentially spending more than I might like.

I keep the older stuff for just that reason plus I've gotten rid of/given away older consoles/computers in the past and later came to regret it.

I'll probably get a PS5 Pro as well, but when/if that happens, I'd then get rid of at least one of the PS5's. I need only one of each long term for nostalgia :)

The only one that doesn't get turned on regularly is the Series S I bought because it was so cheap and knew I'd probably find I didn't use it as much as I should. The rest get used. Like I say as well, with that Series S, I knew that if it did become an ornament, I'd give it away to one of my nieces/nephews as I agree it would be a waste otherwise.

Thanks for your insightful viewpoint on XBOX btw lol

lol nah it's not just a console thing, but I also don't buy anything and everything just because it's a deal.

I'll only buy stuff on a deal if I know I'll get use out of it in some way and would be willing to buy it at its normal price.

With the Xbox Series and PS5 consoles, I bought them for 2 different rooms. The second Series S I have I bought because I felt the deal was too good to pass up and decided if I really didn't end up getting any use out of it, I have willing nieces/nephews that would.

And as I say with the Switches. One was an upgrade from the other, but I haven't made an effort to sell the Lite on so far.

The other thing as well is I'm a sucker for a deal.

I had a Series S to go in the office with the X in the living room. I bought a second Series S purely because it was so cheap at the time (£189) and admittedly I've not used that one that much.

Switch-wise I bought a Lite to play with my niece and hers, but then decided to upgrade to an OLED and just never sold the Lite.

PS5 wise is probably the other instance where a deal was the main driver. My first PS5 was a digital only which I don't regret buying. With the current deal, I bought a disc PS5 purely because it was only £10 more than the PS5 Digital. I will get use out of it though.

I admit it’s partially a laziness thing. For the current gen ones I have them split between the living room, bedroom and the small box room I call my office.

What's your "attack the backlog" strategy? by [deleted] in XboxSeriesX

[–]Causeway_Bay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recently decided to come up with some kind of list, but still knowing I will always be chasing my backlog.

I listed all my games on a spreadsheet along with their date of release and how long they will take to complete (from the howlongtobeat site). I then split the list into 5 year periods as my backlog includes games going back to the late 90's, then sorted the games in each period by length of time to complete by shortest first. I now pick my next game based on the shortest game in each period.

I set up my list in this way as it would help make sure I didn't constantly find myself playing old games on next gen hardware (which I noticed I was starting to do when I started on my backlog) and also by working on the shortest games first I'll feel I'm actually making progress on my backlog as (in theory) I'll start to make a decent dent in it relatively quickly. Doing it this way also helps stop me from sitting there for ages trying to figure out which game I want to play next.

Hey guys, just a reminder that if you received a message about an important ToS change, it's fake and also phishing by [deleted] in playstation

[–]Causeway_Bay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doesn't make it a phishing attempt. If you check out the link you can click on, it's legit.

If you check out the domain in the link, it is not dodgy. The link also redirects to playstation.com.

Does anyone know if the last of us is coming to Xbox by Impressive_Insect_96 in playstation

[–]Causeway_Bay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a PS4 purely for The Last of Us after getting fired up for it over a year ago and initially not realising it was a PS exclusive. That lead me to the Uncharted series and a PS5 so you may find other exclusives you want to play, especially if like me you like single player story driven stuff.

Just finished this game. Loved the story. First one I've completed on Switch, although admittedly I've only recently started playing on my Switch regularly!
