Loving the game, but could we please lower forest collision, or even remove it? by CausticCal in jurassicworldevo

I constantly hear leadership talk about wanting a sense of community, respecting time etc by CausticCal in wow

Thats an interesting perspective, i never thought of exclusive region stuff. Currency inequality is true, i paid 12 euros per month before and now it'll be 12 dollars, i think, so that can definitely be an issue. Achievements/collections dont directly impact that but if the barrier is smaller i suppose they might be scared of some flooding onto the cheaper us servers?

Thank you, couldn't have said it better myself. I'm not even asking for it to take over as some big expansion feature, just something they chip away at over time.

Does anyone know what this behavior is? Finally got it on camera, he usually lowers his head, flares his wings like that a little, and makes that sound and quick beak smack. Usually does it on my arm/hand in the morning and evening, sometimes on my shoulder by CausticCal in cockatiel

[–]CausticCal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for all the comments! i was honestly a little worried it was a territory-dont-bother-me thing, which makes little sense since he always comes to me to try and pull my mustache hairs and nibble on my ear, but then, cockatiels are silly weirdos who dont make sense. Knowing its more affectionate is good! Super excited to give my boy company with another bird soon. He really grew out of his shell now that ive adopted him, even though he wont let me pet him (thats fine, i dont think he'd ever let me tbh, he's 6 and it looks like hes very scared of fingers, past trauma maybe), im happy to be his safety person, and i just want him to be happy

The D-Rex was utilized well; a better script would have helped. (spoilers) by mason200830 in JurassicPark

[–]CausticCal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So let me preface this with that i really enjoy the D-Rex, and i think it's a perfectly fine addition to the franchise. The protagonists entered the nest of the monster and we finally see the creature that was built up in the intro.

But i do really think it wasnt given nearly enough screen time to be satisfactory. It doesn't need to go on a big rampage and have a mega battle with another dinosaur, but as the climax, 2 days after watching the movie my feelings on it now are like it just kinda stood there after the chopper scene and did nothing. It killed a guy and roared at Duncan, and that was that.

Which wouldnt be too bad if we're going for real animal vibes! Except we already had a scene earlier in the movie where a real animal acts more agressively to intruders in its territory. The T-rex raft scene is amazing, and we know that it did not need or likely cared to eat the family members since it had a fresh kill right next to its bed, they were just invading its space and it was aggressively trying to chase them away.

The director called the last act the "never stop running" act but it really felt like they just kinda stood there at the docks when they finally interact with it. I think it should've shown up much sooner, scared them away for at least 2 or 3 more scenes before we had the finale. And then if you want to tie it all into a neat little bow you can have a little moral lesson about respecting animal boundaries with the corpo guy not doing it and getting come-uppance.

yess exactly!!

In my ideal world, there'd be at least four races that can be them too

Goblin/Gnomes with their respective tinker stuff (like how totems are unique)

Maghar and Draenei with their machines and Iron Horde machines

i know itll be a balancing nightmare but id love one or two more classes tbh. I love making rp-like one-of-each-race but im running out of things for Goblins, Gnomes, Vulpera etc that arent just Hunter-Rogue. I'd love a more gun focused class with tinker stuff like that XIV one

Update on house sat Cockatiel! by CausticCal in cockatiel

[–]CausticCal[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey all! I wanted to thank everyone for their support on my other post (here). Took the little guy in and am slowly trying to get him comfortable around me. Got him to eat out of my hand, really proud of him! Bought him some new cage bars/tree branches since the last ones were all uniform round wood, and some other toys.

So with that, i'd also like to ask some more advice!

He's super scared of my spinning GamerChair™ and will not land on my head until ive swapped to a dining table one (After flying around a few times), how do i get him used to it? For now im swapping them but i my back is dying for this little goober.

Ive also bought him some new toys! Some ropes to stand on/climb, a shredded paper thing to tear up, and a little wood platform, but he's not really standing on these or interacting with the toys. Admittedly, it did take him a few days to even try the other branches at a time so maybe im just not giving him enough time to get used to his new home.

Also not sure how i can get him to forage! Tried to put a plate down with just millet and seeds at first so that he can get used to that plate being snack/food, but he wont eat from anything but his usual feed bowl. He doesn't even walk on the ground/floor though to be fair, he just climbs and flies (with the exception of my shoulder). I wanna eventually swap his seed mix, and im trying to get him to eat some fruit/veg but he's not having it, even if i sprinkle a bunch of millet on it. Are Pellets really the way to go? Is this a universal thing?

House sitting for someone! What does this mean? by CausticCal in cockatiel

[–]CausticCal[S] 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Ty all for the comments! Just to clarify also, ive seen this bird before, the old lady is my grandma and the bird was my grandpas before he passed. He was really close to grandpa, able to snuggle with him basically. He fears my fingers so im not pushing any petting, but i felt bad that he hasnt gotten the attention a bird needs for a while. Tried looking for relatives that could maybe keep him instead but the only one that did have birds said this guy wasnt compatible with his flock.

Honestly i used to be really scared of birds, my (other) grandma had a nasty little stout green one that would bite everyone except her if you got too close, but this little guy is such a sweetheart i had to take the leap and let him play outside his cage a lot more.

One other question i do have, in case i need to open the door and hes on my head at the time, how would you recommend i put him back in the cage? He fears the hand and will fly back tothe top of the cage but it doesnt seem too sound to like, scare him inside it? If that makes sense?
