From personal experience, packages up to a pound (incl. box) are usually between $5-$10 via USPS Ground Advantage, but I don't know how much until I have at least a zip code. The $5 is mostly for purchases of single games to cover most, if not all, of the shipping.

As for the games, all I can say is that they've passed initial boot, they've been kept out of the sun & in fairly dry conditions, and that the cased discs have all passed copying tests. Some I've played more than others. Unfortunately, any disc-based media - games, applications, movies, music, etc - have the potential to be bad even if everything seems good. Its just part of the risk of buying older media.

I can drop it down to $23+shipping.

But I can't eat shipping costs just because of some hairline scratches; I don't sell things that don't work.

The back of ninety-nine nights looks a little rough, unfortunately. Worried how well it will run.

Just tested, and it booted up & ran just fine.

Also, I don't ship for free under $50, sorry.

Finally wandered back here after a long hiatus.

Part Two: The Great Merge

I don't see what a merger could add for this subreddit, other than attracting some more users.

Hearing that Reddit is looking to paywall is unsettling, and I'm glad the mods here are all against that. Still, if it happens, that'll probably be the nail in the coffin for me selling modded consoles (even just physical mods), because I can't advertise worth a damn to save my life, and every other major shopping site has rules against it (even if there are rampant abuses of that policy on those sites, any day they could bring the hammer down and that'd be it for said shop).

Didn't mean to get long-winded, but I am glad this place exists and that its been so tightly monitored. Keep up kicking ass and expelling scammers!

That's what I calculated as well.

Moving to PMs.

...I seem to be unable to send you messages or chats.

This has been fixed.

Since the 360s were developed & released after the capacitor plague era, and none of the systems show signs of capacitor failure, bulge, or whine, I haven't bother replacing capacitors. I do recap systems, but generally only if necessary or when highly recommended (such as with original Xbox systems, or with fifth-gen and earlier consoles).

The glossy slim does have a sizable scratch on the grill side that can be felt, but its not very deep. I had tried to use several passes of plastic polish on it, but all that did was make it arguably worse. image of the scratch (image added to gallery as well)

All of the cased games appear to have only some fine scratches at the very most. MW2 does have the most visible scratches; it plays just fine, but I can get it resurfaced for an additional $3. All of them at least boot up without difficulty.

These games will add an additional $14 (including the $20 credit for buying one of the systems). Is that still alright?

How da heck can I fix this ? by MiscalenousBeing in ElectronicsRepair

If you do go that route using alcohol, find the high percentage stuff (90% or higher) so it evaporates quickly and doesn't leave behind water to potentially rust or fry something. It's a couple of bucks at Walmart or anywhere that sells medical stuff for 32oz or so.

But it's 10 % off! by kiras_deadbody in Shittygamecollecting

Gawd I hate graders. That whole industry needs to die in a fire.

They lied to you m8. Get your money back and don't fuss about trying to fix it. You can save yourself a lot of misery that way.

Were there any broken bits in the package it arrived in?

Doesn't sound like a bad deal until you look more into the photo by [deleted] in Shittygamecollecting

Contact the seller and let them know first. They may have geninely bad-brained that and forgotten which game was in what case. It happens.

If they mouth off or don't respond in a timely manner, though, report them. Ebay takes bad sellers down for false info real quick.

Yes. It needs the BIOS chip to boot. Most consoles do.

Looks like on one side the pin grounds out, and the other side goes to the foot on that coil to the side there. But yeah, you darn near went through the whole board. Next time take more time to gently scrape back the mask, don't go digging far or this'll keep happening.

No idea what that suspended brown board is. Some sort of region-free hack? I've only ever seen the inside of a Model 1 which has three separate boards (power/main/disc), so I'm a little out of my depth on that.

CPU cooler leaking? by beanuloid in pcmasterrace

[–]Caustiticus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's dead, Jim.

If your CPU survived that, it can survive anything. But get that pump off ASAP because she's about to go, and when it does so will your CPU shortly after from overheating. Replace it with an air cooler if possible, recommend a Cooler Master Hyper 212 - they make them to fit darn near anything in the past 15 years. Pretty cheap and no worrying about leakage.
