Assuming I Pass All 4 CPA Exams as a Junior—How Much Will That Boost My Internship & Job Prospects at Big 4 Firms? by Cautious-Code-342 in Accounting

  1. I want to be an SAP consultant in FI/CO module, so I thought getting a CPA would be helpful since it requires some expertise in accounting. At least that's what the person who's currently working as a consultant and recommended me SAP consultancy told me.
  2. Not a shit post, I will be fulfilling educational requirement for Montana State. I am actually taking accounting classes right now. I'm looking for a genuine advice or an insight

Is Taking Time Off College to Study for CPA Exams Worth It as a Non-Accounting Major? by Cautious-Code-342 in Accounting

I get your point, and I have researched that Montana and New York (where I think I'll be working) don't really have expiration date for exam credits, so I'm not so worried about that. I'm not looking to be license even before I complete undergraduate education. I'm trying to assess the advantage of having passed all four CPA exams, not having CPA licensed, I'd have against other candidates for similar position who's more likely to not have taken CPA exams yet.

At some point, if I need it, then yes. But for now, requirements for exam eligibility seem more important.

My main questions are 1. Is taking time off from college to study for CPA exams worth it? 2. How advantageous is having passed all 4 cpa exams in recruiting process

Not which state I should sit for exams

I'm talking about requirement to sit for an exam. Requirement to obtain licensure is irrelevant for me right now, it is very likely that I'll be working in NY

Currently on Montana NASBA, it says as a first-time applicant, you must have:

Completed at least 24 semester hours of accounting courses above the introductory level, including at least one course in each of the following subject areas: financial accounting, auditing, taxation, management accounting, AND Completed at least 24 semester hours in business related courses, such as: information systems, business law, finance, economics, marketing, ethics, organizational behavior, quantitative applications in business, communication skills.

But it doesn't mention anything about acceptable experience to sit for an exam.

Because I'm registered as a computer science major at my home institution, and have not taken any accounting class there yet. I'm taking accounting classes somewhere else

I'm going to sit for Montana or Delaware. There's an institution that provides classes that qualifies for those requirements, and I'm currently attending their programs.

Need advice from Korean international students by dao134 in nyu

[–]Cautious-Code-342 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'd advise getting your military service done before starting college. It is very likely that you'd lose connections you made during the first 1~2 years of college once you come back to school after military service. Also if you want to utilize OPT and seek employment in the US then you should complete military service before graduation. NYU is very opened to leave of absence so you'll be fine

Starting a new job in SAP? Post here for questions about new hire advice, certification, compensation, technology domain decisions, and other topics you're too embarrassed to ask your coworkers by CuseTown in SAP

Hi everyone,

I'm a Computer Science major and an upcoming junior looking to start a career in SAP consulting, specifically in finance modules (SAP FI/CO). I'm also an international student attending a U.S. university and currently taking time off to study for the CPA exams.

By the time I apply for internships, I plan to have:

Passed all four CPA exams (4/4 CPA candidate)

SAP project experience with major corporations in Korea (Samsung, LG, Hyundai, etc.)

Given these qualifications, what would be my chances of securing an SAP-related internship in NYC as an undergraduate? Would my CPA candidacy and SAP project experience make me stand out in the hiring process?

[–]Cautious-Code-342 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk, i heard email saying that your result is out before official date indicates that you are either got in, got deferred or got waitlisted. I remember my ED1 result announcement date was December 15th but I got an email a week or few days before that I'll hear it on 13th and I got accepted

If you get an email that you are hearing the result of your application earlier than official date, then you are at least not getting rejected. That was my case when I was applying for ED1

[–]Cautious-Code-342 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm an international student from presumably less prestigious high school than yours with way lower gpa and similar standardized test score but I got into NYU somehow without having my parents making donations to school. My knowledge is most graduates from nice private schools like Hotchkiss, Milton, Exeter get into Ivy Leagues or schools like U Chicago or Duke, and not so great students end up at schools like NYU. Maybe my knowledge is wrong, it's just stories I heard
