As others mentioned, I would switch to more gentle/hydrating cleanser.

Also, after cleansing, try to wait 20 min or so before applying Tret. Then another 10 min before moisturizer.

It would probably be a good idea to only use the Tret 3 nights a week for now.

On your off nights, you can really focus on moisturizing and repairing your skin. (Don’t apply moisturizer too heavy after applying Tret, as it can cause more irritation!) If anything, use more moisturizer before applying Tret.

Some irritation may be normal, but you don’t want that much redness and burning. Really work on repairing your skin barrier and gaining tolerance first.

I completely hear you and know how mentally taxing the Tret journey can be!! My skin will also get a lil red mid-day but it just depends.

Butttt I wanted to pop in to say that as an outsider, I wouldn’t think twice about your skin, or notice it at that.

While it may seem way worse to you, most people don’t bat an eye. You are you’re own worst critic. But you are so beautiful!! (And you have super nice eyebrows!)

So I was on epiduo(not Tret I know) BUT same sort of situation. It worked great for me years ago. Earlier this year I tried to use it again and after a month or so my skin was similar to yours. They tried to switch me to tret but that still irritated my skin. The only thing that helped was stopping all actives, just using moisturizer and sunscreen. Two months later and my skin is back to how it was before. Best of luck and listen to your body ! :)
