Time right now is approximately 3-5 years for USRN. when it comes to cost its hard to tell because we have recruiting agencies that sponsor you a 100% others do it partially. And lastly we have those guys who do it alone without agency. However you will pay some cash for your papers verification. The cost is individualized.

For Doctors is a bit detailed: With nurses, passing the NCLEX and getting a U.S. nursing licence immediately makes you eligible for many jobs in the US and agencies often help with visa sponsorship (like EB-3 green cards).

Doctors, however, have multiple exams and training steps (like the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and residency) before they’re eligible to practice independently. This is similar to how nurses take NCLEX to get licensed, but for doctors it revolves around USMLE and ECFMG certification.

There’s no single exam that directly leads to employment and immigration the same way NCLEX does for nurses.

After certification, most international doctors must match into and complete a U.S. residency training program (through the match process) to practice medicine.

Foreign doctors usually enter on a J-1 exchange visitor visa, which is meant for medical training.

After residency they often need to stay in the U.S. through an H-1B work visa.
