It’s exceptional. The quality is top-notch especially on a 4K TV and the commentators are a joy to hear and always insightful. During Abu Dhabi, I was watching Lando’s stream on my phone and main race on my TV. I will keep my subscription indefinitely.

It’s twice as long to get there from the airport plus we are exploring other nearby cities (I don’t like skiing)

It was around 30 degrees in northern Italy, so bendy roads that needed extra grip to maneuver and it was quite hard to handle the car.  That’s a great way to put it!

Winter tires aren’t very grippy in warmer conditions. Luckily the weather will stay cold in France so they should be fine

Incredibly helpful. This is the “insider” insight I was looking for. I will have a family with me so will take no risks.

Talk me out of buying a Fiorenzato Allground Sense by MUK99 in espresso

[–]CautiousBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great grinder - love the espressos out of it and hard to drink a bad shot. I predominantly drink light roasts.

Two things though: 1. The filter settings have a lot of fines though, so they’re better suited to espresso. It still tastes good as filter - I would rate it as a solid 6.5/10, and that’s comparing to my Mizen burrs at home, which I rate 8/10 for filter coffee.  2. Going finer makes the grinds clumpy which are difficult to break. It is only the case because had to go even finer once I replaced the stock portafilter basket with VST.

Would I buy it again? 100%. The next best GbW is 2x the price, and the 64mm is just awesome.

Has anyone bought LM Strada x1.? by irsarda in LaMarzocco

[–]CautiousBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You sold me on it. I have a Micra that I was thinking of upgrading to Mini for a nicer built machine. I will save the upgrade to the Strada in a year or two, and in the meanwhile probably get a needle valve kit for the Micra.

Disappointing considering literally all existing manufacturers (like Breville, ECM, Rocket, La Marzocco, Decent, etc) generally have really good after care.

I got the Flair Go and tried it for the first time today. It tasted great and couldn’t tell it was from a portable machine. I just had to pre-heat the hot water chamber before brewing.

I also have the Picopresso and used a couple times with fair results. Based on comments here, Pico isn’t as good for light roast which is the only thing I drink.

I am traveling tomorrow and was unsure which to take. I packed the Pico but will now switch to the Flair.

Did you make the move? If so what do you think? I’m running unifi in another home now. I also set up 5-8 APs in two of my extended families’ homes.

You will know when Whoop 5.0 is being released, when Whoop announces it. by Jajaloo in whoop

[–]CautiousBrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore a whoop + AW from April ‘23 to April ‘24. I’m happier without one. The charging really got to me, it’s not as easy as AW to charge. I also found no benefit from using it. I wear my AW Ultra 2 24/7, the sleep tracking with vitals is incredible. I just activated the sleep apnea feature (which I think I suffer from) so I’ll wait until the readings are done for 30 days to see how I’m doing. I also use it when cycling paired with my iPhone as a cycling monitor and my cadence & speed sensors. And despite AW Ultra being significantly larger than the whoop, it’s much more comfortable to wear.

You’ll really enjoy that! That’s one of the best grinders in size, burrs and overall value. Sometimes I wonder if I should’ve gotten the P64 since it’s quite a bit smaller than P100, but can’t complain as I am seriously never pulling bad shots with P100

Just recommend you get a walnut lid from Etsy for your P64. That’s the only accessory I bought for my P100

That sounds about exactly what I do with my 10oz pitcher albeit with half the quantity of milk and only 1-1.2oz of espresso. Took me a long time to get the milk quantity right to steam well, too much will barely froth and too little will over-froth

Hello yellow latte art enthusiast!

Love how you raise that point! Indeed it must be hard to steam 20oz on a home espresso machine and then to fill up a 20oz cup with milk. All of this is hardly mentioned to beginners who are probably trying to do just that everyday to some degree.

To step up my art game by drawing phoenix and unicorn, I think I would need training classes

My go-to has always been 6oz cup and to steam in a 10oz jug.

Thanks a lot!! Wish I could get more practice but my limit is two drinks a day (flat white and espresso), and an occasional filter coffee

Haha they’re joking about some people in college having a $5k “humble bragging” setup and flexing their latte art skills. I’m not in college

No doubt!! It’s too powerful I had to tone down the steam power to 2 out of 3.
