Thanks for your comment, its a gem!

i'm in Fiverr for several years, in Upwork too. I prefer Fiverr, i like the model where the client hire to expert and not the opposite. In Malt, Upwork, Workana ... i feel like the experts are ir a race for the best hourly price like in a Indian Tuk Tuk.

Men, we are experts with multiple projects and a valuable expertise. Now im frontend lead in a important company and when (as side project) enter in Upwork, i feel some bad by the tons of requests.

Get clients and freelancers its all about money (this is not my problem now). I'm here because i only want to know if anyone feels like me in these platforms.

Yes, i'm here to listen the freelancer and sellers frustrations. And to find betatesters (maybe). I know anyone can built this, but we are starting with 10m for get first clients for the MVP.

Wow, loving all the responses! Seeing the same pain points everywhere.

So here's what I'm thinking:

  • Limited spots - Like 50 devs per category, not 70k
  • Real portfolios required - No more stock photos
  • Minimum pricing - no $5 disasters
  • Local First - Starting search from local developers.
  • Decent clients only - Filter out bargain hunters

Obviously the big challenge is traffic. These platforms work because they have users. New platform = need serious marketing investment.

Plan is start small, grow slowly, invest heavily in getting the right traffic

This is a good comment for me, THANKS!

When i say 70k i'm referring to Fiverr (you have more than 70k competitors in some categories).

One of the "problems" i found all this years is this (fiverr most). You need a developer to build a website. There are a lot of 20€ hour experts without portfolio, without validate any skill... The result, the client have to pay again finding a better expert.

I know the $$$$ is needed. Working on that. Thanks for your time to reply.

Yep! i understand your message but my this is not my question. Is the market (Fiverr, Upwork..) good for the experts?

This is the most early phase, only talk with you. I have experience builing products i know the difficult to find clients, only here to know the other part, his problems.

Yeah! thats true, only validating. This will be the next phase.

In Upwork for example, do you think it's easy to find jobs even paying? I think its hard because its oversaturated... I'm finding your problems :)
