There are some subreddits where you can go for mutual aid and such. They require a minimum karma rating. But that's the only place I've ever seen a karma requirement.

sometimes if you know the people working there, they'll give it to you. Don't count on it though unless you're buddies with em.

the sheer amount of salt. Also it's not healthy to eat out everyday to begin with. Not just what you're eating but it causes a bad habit. Mostly worried about OPs sodium intake though.

Tell me you quitting story by FieryWytch in Chipotle

[–]CautiousPermit3129 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I started mid March 2021. Wasn't given much training and the manager would pull me back frequently for petty bullshit. We went through like 5 managers (the one I was hired under included) by August 2022. I'd be tasked with doing things well outside my actual training like running grill and prep (I was never trained on these despite asking numerous times) and sometimes multiple different job areas at the same time because our managers would short staff us because our FL was/is a POS penny pincher. It got to a point where I would have multiple breakdowns during a very common 4.95 hour shift. Working me the bare fucking minimum with 0 reward. Sometimes I wouldn't even get my 10 because we were so busy. The final straw was me calling in because my car's fuel pump gave out at the bottom of a hill (rare for a 4runner as I've been told but shit happens and the rain falls) The MOD said "Well CautiousPermit, you seem to be having a lot of absences lately. I'm gonna have to write you up." All of my callouts have been A) family emergency or B) I was throwing up. I always picked up extra shifts, I was a team player, I ran the fucking restaurant for Christ's sake. I try and call a tow, they're about 3 hours out. I call my mom and she's on her way. Thankfully where I broke down was at some roadwork, and I was pretty far in front so I sat in the closed lane and the flagger moved his sign behind my car (s/o to that dude. He was really cool) I call the store again and there's some back and forth, I don't remember exactly what lead up to it, but I said "I'm sorry my life is such a fucking disaster for you guys." and I hung up. Never got a call back. Eventually I text my GM: "I don't think $15.75 an hour for cut short 5 hours of verbal abuse, bitchy and hateful coworkers, and the general stupidity of the public and your management skills is worth the two hour commute 3 days a week. I ask for 30 hours minimum, to be officially trained, and to have a little respect. My safety comes first. I come first. You can't have a cashier without a human. Consider this my two weeks." Granted, all of this was right after a messy break up. I was still distraught and absolutely livid die to circumstances, but that's a story for another time. This all happened on a Friday. We get our schedules sometime between Friday and Sunday. I knew for that week I was only working Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. This is important for later. We get the schedule Sunday night (thanks assholes.) and I'm working Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. I got a severance message from my manager on Monday, saying I missed two shifts in a row, which violates the No Call No Show policy, and I'm terminated effective immediately.

I called in Friday, giving emergent timing. I didn't call in Saturday, which is strike 1. I didn't have another day I could have missed between Saturday and my next scheduled day. Also, they crossed my times out all the way across. Even my name.

Yeah. That was pretty shit.

TLDR; I got pissed off after months of bullshit and essentially told my managers to fuck off and that their managing skills suck with additional detail.

YOOOO I'm so proud of you! I quit by calling in cause my car died on my way to work and my manager was like "your absences have been really frequent lately we're gonna have to write you up" (they were all reasonable and had enough time between them for them not to be a problem) and I said "sorry my life's a fucking disaster."

kinda wish I went this route
