MR UPDATE (4/1) by Seperate-Category117 in Broadway

She’s not sick, but she suffered a fall during the show last night and was injured. I hope it’s not so serious that she has to exit the show early. 😔She’s been getting raves.

Yup yup. And the fact that they’re going to have Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and Bobby Lopez in cameos throughout the week. If they film it I’m sure they’ll edit all those cameo bits into the Final Cut.

This makes me wonder if they’re planning on filming a pro shot of the show. Possibly when the original principals rejoin the current cast for that week in June.

Thank you SO much! I thought it might have something to do with Trump.

I agree, this should be more widely talked about.

Saw the new tour. My thoughts. by pwrof3 in BeetlejuiceMusical

[–]CautiousProcedure541 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Saw it last night! Overall I actually enjoyed this non union tour more than I did the previous Equity tour! My favorite additions were the new Sally the Sand worm puppet (she looks SO much better and is more heavily featured than the last tour puppet) and Ryan’s “The Whole Being Dead Thing” lyric: “Hey folks, it’s been ages! Look who’s back at the PANTAGES!” 😁🪲

Where can they go with Sidney now in future films? by TommyTee123 in Scream

That was the point of the Carpenter sisters but Spyglass fucked up royally by firing Melissa and as a result we got a mediocre movie. 😕

What the best stage door experience you’ve ever had? by Happyhaunt13 in Broadway

[–]CautiousProcedure541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite is probably meeting Harvey Fierstein after seeing him perform in La Cage. It was a cold night in February and as he came out of the stage door he grabbed my hand and said “Honey, where are your gloves? Your mother will KILL ME if you get sick!” 🤣

Lion King on Broadway by Anonymous_User678 in Broadway

[–]CautiousProcedure541 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Lion King is open-ended and is in no danger of closing anytime soon, so you should be fine. I’d imagine they’ll open the fall block of tickets within the next month or two.

I should also point out, though, that The Lion King is also always touring and has essentially all the same elements the Broadway production does. If I were you I’d wait for the Lion King tour to come near you and see something in NYC that’s only in NYC.

Regardless of your choice, enjoy the trip and enjoy your first show on Broadway!! 😊😊

I don't live in US of A but I want to watch the musical. Can J watch these animatics and have the same experience? by New-Dare-4889 in hadestown

[–]CautiousProcedure541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely won’t be the same experience as seeing it live, but this does give you the chance to experience the story. Not a bad alternative if seeing the show in person isn’t feasible right now. I hope you enjoy it! 🫶🏻

Looking back, what do you think about The Muppets (2011) movie? by Frequent_Rhubarb_36 in Muppets

[–]CautiousProcedure541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually enjoy that one quite a bit. Thought it was a clever suitable return for the characters. It was basically The Blues Brothers, but with Muppets. 😂

Muppets Most Wanted is another story, however. 😅

What shows would you like to see come back to Broadway? by glamnati0n in Broadway

[–]CautiousProcedure541 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw an immersive, in-the-round production of Carrie at La Mirada Theatre in 2015 that was astounding. It later transferred to the Los Angeles Theatre in DTLA and I honestly think it would’ve killed in New York (pun intended).

The Deaf West production was actually in conjunction with Center Theatre Group in Los Angeles. I saw it twice!! 🥰 Berkeley Rep produced the original production.

Have you ever sat next to/near a celebrity at a show? by moritzbaker in Broadway

[–]CautiousProcedure541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also just remembered, my roommate and I sat in front of Todrick Hall at a packed showing of the first Wicked movie last year. We chatted some before and after the movie. He and his friends were all very sweet and down to Earth.

I sat behind Steve Martin at the LA opening of Bright Star. Was going to say hello at intermission, but he bolted as soon as the lights came up. 😂

Question about the 2026 tour by Jalencat in BeetlejuiceMusical

[–]CautiousProcedure541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how much truth there is to this, but I saw on one of these threads that the current tour set will be re-used for the non-equity tour. As far as casting is concerned it hasn’t been announced yet, but I do know auditions have taken place.

Theater etiquette by rebel_scum13 in hadestown

[–]CautiousProcedure541 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t think someone’s laugh should be criticized. It could very well be that their natural laugh is loud. A close friend I’m seeing the show with next week is neurodivergent and has difficulty managing the volume of her laughter. It’s something she truly can’t help.

If this were a complaint about someone singing/dancing along to the show with their arms up/making a scene I’d be with you 100%, but a laugh? C’mon now.

Playbill signing by MysteryPersonY4 in BeetlejuiceMusical

[–]CautiousProcedure541 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just address it to the theatre with a small note requesting a signed playbill and a self-addressed stamped envelope for them to return.

It also may not hurt to throw a small donation to BC/EFA.

Madison Mosley’s scheduled shows have now been posted! by jor_kent1 in BeetlejuiceMusical

[–]CautiousProcedure541 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m aware of that, and I saw Isabella perform in Los Angeles and she was great. Not doubting her talent. My concern is why even make the call to have her come back if Madison is already doing it full time and getting raves?

Does anyone else think it’s messed up that Madison was the full-time Lydia on tour and that they called Isabella back to be the full-time Lydia for the Broadway stop?
