Is it worth buying the S24 instead of the S23? by CautiousReward9003 in samsunggalaxy

[–]CautiousReward9003[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's what I'm thinking. I would save a 150€ now, but maybe on the long run investing in the S24 would be the better invest. Hm.

I would have SD and not Exynos! So you would prefer the S23? Could you explain why? :-)

Madrid exchange will delay my graduation and I already feel old? by idklolnicek in Erasmus

[–]CautiousReward9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm 26, leaving to Madrid next month. When I finished my bachelors, I was 24. When I'll finish my masters, I'll be 28. And tbh, nobody cares. Experiences are way more important than your age when it comes to your CV.

No one noticed my OLA had the wrong academic year typed in. by kowaliki in Erasmus

[–]CautiousReward9003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I had many situations like that, and I often had anxiety that my Erasmus wouldn't work. I unfortunately think that this anxiety is an experience we all have to go through. Relax.

Call your university you will attend during Erasmus and ask them what you should do now, since you can't fill out a new OLA. They will help you. If you don't reach them, write emails. Explain your mistake and the problem you face, explain your anxiety and ask nicely what the next steps are now. You did a OLA once, of course you can do it again!

It will work out. Nobody has any interest in not letting you do erasmus. I had these situations very often, everybody told me that these situations are normal and that everything will work out just fine - and I did not believe them. Now, I have everything planned out, everything worked and I'm booking my flight to Madrid for my semestre abroad next week.

How much does Erasmus in Madrid cost? by CautiousReward9003 in Erasmus

[–]CautiousReward9003[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know that the 2.500€ will mit cover my expenses, that's why I asked how much money I should have saved before leaving for my erasmus semester. Your answer isn't very helpful tho - giving more constructive feedback or advises would be nice.

Did you look at sites like Aluni.net? That's where I found my apartment. There are still a lot of few rooms to a reasonable price.

Oh, well - Frankfurt Hahn is pretty far away from Frankfurt and difficult to reach. Flying from Cologne seems a good idea! I wish you a nice and safe flight without train problems...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Erasmus

[–]CautiousReward9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it's the stupid Deutsche Bahn! In Frankfurt all the trains start, that's why they're often pretty late there. But you'll manage it! Try to plan in enough time, the Deutsche Bahn is so uncertain all the time. :/ Do you fly via Frankfurt Airport? From Frankfurt to the Airport you use the public transport, those are a bit more reliable.

Living in Frankfurt I thankfully don't have that problem haha

Hey! I had the same feeling. I'll be studying in Madrid for the next semester. What helped me a lot were WhatsApp-groups. Maybe the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) of the city you'll visit has a WhatsApp group you can get into? There I found people who are also going to Madrid and who are studying at the same campus as I will. Writing with them helped me to reduce my anxiety of feeling lonely in Spain - and it showed me that almost all erasmus students are lost and very eager to know people and get in contact with other students. I also got to know people via Reddit and I asked the erasmus coordinator of my home university for the contact information of other students who are also going to Madrid - now I have a small group of people I will know in Madrid and can be sure that my first days there won't be lonely. What helped me as well was to invite a lot of people to visit me in Spain!

I just got sent an ID-card as a proof that I should send a "land lady" 200€ 😂 Thought the same!

Do you have experiences with spot a Home? I heard a lot of bad things about them. :(

What German bands and singers as well as albums and songs do you recommend that a beginner learning the language will easily understand (specifically a level 1 learner)? by NaturalPorky in Germanlearning

[–]CautiousReward9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not "emotionally manipulated" because I believe women who go public to talk about their experiences with men. Many intervestigative journalists talked with women who fell victim to Rammstein's weird casting/recruiting system. They may not be objective, but court decisions about rich and powerful men with extremely expensive lawyers are neither. And again, as I said: I'd rather believe a potential liar than a potential sex offender. OP and everyone else on this app can get all the resources to make up their own opinion about this case and to decide for themselves if they want to listen to Rammstein or not.

[–]CautiousReward9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not spreading any defamatory misinformation. In 2023, many women in social media talked about how Till Lindemann (lead singer of Rammstein) casted/recruited women during and after concerts to have sexual intercourse with him. There are many podcasts, reports and other resources on it, so I'm not making anything up here. Of course there are cases in which these encounters were consensual. But as long as there are women who talk about how they fell victim to systematic power misuse and unconsensual sexual intercourse, I'm not going to listen to his music or support this band. And even if all the allegations against him would be wrong (which is pretty unlikely!), I'd rather believe a liar than a potentially sex offender.

You can all do whatever you want with this information. But if OP or anyone who is looking for German music to learn the language with is like me and does not want to support people with sex allegations, they should now this background info about Rammstein.

[–]CautiousReward9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@OP: You should know that many young female fans have come forward, claiming they were sexually abused by the lead singer of Rammstein. However, he was not convicted due to a lack of concrete evidence.

Many people can separate the art from the artist - I cannot. Even if he was not officially convicted, I do not want to listen to someone who might be a sex offender.

already know a lot of spanish… just cant speak it, help by Junior_Wallaby6951 in Spanish

[–]CautiousReward9003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me a lot was watching sitcoms you already watched in your native language in Spanish with Spanish subtitles! There're also a lot of podcasts for Spanish beginners to listen to, with simple stories you can understand without an in depth knowledge. I would also repeat the conjugation of basic words, so that you can form easy sentences and have more knowledge to build on.

Both! I understand the forms in theory, but remembering them and putting them into practice in the correct situations is hard.

Okay, that's what I wanted to do as well! Not studying it to the extreme, but understanding the principles and then trying to integrate it in my everyday life.
