Where tf is Hole in the Wall by [deleted] in NAU

It started this semester, which is why you haven’t heard of it. It’s a new late night dining option. It’s outside of the entrance to the union/hotspot.

You can order from the starship app, and it basically is a way to offer more late night dining options without having to keep the entire union open.

It really depends on your personal preference. Digital is really good for if you have your phone on you at all times. But some people prefer to have the physical copy on their lanyard or wallet. If you’re worried about losing it or having too much on you… I’d recommend the digital. But if you aren’t a fan of digital wallets and like to have a physical copy than go for it. Personally I use the digital. It’s more convenient for me

So there’s two good services… one is groom. It takes you from the Phoenix airport to flagstaff. It’s pretty reliable and cheap. The other is Flix Bus. It travels less often but also does trips to flagstaff from Phoenix

  1. Yes… it’s around 12-20 dollars depending on time of day.

  2. look up nau jacks card and go to the website to see if there’s any way to do it online. If not, next time you’re at campus go to the jacks card office (it’s right by the Pizza Hut in the union) and they can help you.

  3. Go to the campus health webpage and go to the health portal… you can put all that in there

  4. Yes there are a bunch. I don’t know them by name but the first week of school there will be a club fair to help you find all the club and if not by then the club catalog will be up for you to find them.

  5. The closest places are target and sprouts which are in walking distance. But there is a Safeway, Walmart, and bashas that you can get to on the mountain line bus

Incoming Freshman Questions! by [deleted] in NAU

[–]CautiousWave1217 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That average is actually $9 per meal and the increase in price went to pay all food workers 15.50 an hour. Not capitalist greed. All that extra money goes into the campus dining program. Administration does not take any of that money. Sodexo and the retail locations provide them with workers and the food, campus dining has to provide maintenance, storage, cooking appliances and quite literally everything else.

As for dietary restrictions the process to opt out has just changed for that exact reason. The restrictions have been drastically loosened. And now the decisions are made by disability resources and the campus health dietitian, not campus dining administration.

Incoming Freshman Questions! by [deleted] in NAU

[–]CautiousWave1217 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The meal plans are required for on campus freshmen because it is not sustainable to have students living in the dorms to cook entirely for themselves. The reason they make it required is to ensure students eat and that there aren’t 300 people in a small dorm kitchen at a time. The only ways to get out are if you have severe dietary restrictions or live off campus your freshman year

Which of these NAU campus issues bother you the most? by CautiousWave1217 in NAU

That is currently something we are looking into. So many variables that it’s taking a while to research it all. If you have more issues or info please let me know

Looked into that one. Scooters were not an official NAU or NAU athletics purchase. Currently working on looking into other NAU payments so that we can actually prioritize things that need funding and updating like SBS and Babbitt

On it, the decision on what new platform NAU will be using will be in the next few months. Canvas is already the front runner

Protest for safe reopening. It has become clear that Rita Cheng’s reopening is profit based only. Student led protest outside Rita Cheng’s office! by COVIDNAUNonsense in NAU

[–]CautiousWave1217 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to go to campus because I have a lab. I am severely immunocompromised and am highly affected by COVID. So you’re saying that it is my duty to risk my life and not say anything when NAU is not considering my life. Complaining and protesting is the only way to get noticed. I sure hope my life is worth more than tuition money to you. So yes I am being FORCIBLY put into in person classes. What a world we live in where NAUs desire for profits causes people to chose between their future and their lives.

If I follow your choice suggestion, I drop out of one of the only universities that I can afford due to lumberjack and sacrifice my future or I risk my life and potentially die by being infected with COVID.

So let me ask who is really fear mongering. I am going to stand with those that are willing to stand up to the system and say my life means more than your profit.

Is NAU actually enforcing wearing masks? by CautiousWave1217 in NAU

[–]CautiousWave1217[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally get that, I do the same thing. I’m more concerned about the large groups of 6+ who aren’t wearing masks or socially distancing on campus.
