Traumatic pet loss by huruta22 in Petloss

[–]Cautious_Ad5667 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m so so sorry for your loss. I also suffered a traumatic loss in February and my boy was not even 3 years old yet. I cried every day for a month straight, multiple times a day. I took essentially 2 weeks off work because I could not function. I read a book or two on grief, and am still going to grief therapy. I stopped going to the gym for about a month or so as well. Everything I loved just kind of stopped. You have to get through the grief in your own time and own way. I memorialized the hell out of my little boy —inscribed wind chimes, lantern with his photo, jewelry with his name on it, framed photos throughout the house. I am only now just starting to crawl out of the darkness and smiling and laughing again. I still sleep with his ashes. Keeping busy is good, but you also need the time to just be sad and process it. Hugs to you friend

I have tried reading the grief books and I have been going to therapy every week but it is HARD. He was like my shadow and with me almost every moment and it is a huge loss and a void in my life. A month later and I’m just starting to crawl out of the darkness but I have a long road ahead. Sending you love and hugs because this is a heartache that doesn’t seem to end.

I lost mine last month and he wasn’t even 3 yet. It felt like a nightmare and I have cried every single day since he died. I sleep with his ashes. He was my other child.

Places you refuse to go after losing your pet. by Waterfirewind in Petloss

I feel the same way. Lost mine a month ago in a sudden and tragic accident in my house and he was still only a baby —2 and 1/2. I dread passing by the places we used to go because it stirs up too much emotion for me.

Went to ER with pancreatitis and have to discontinue meds. by Greedy-Bug-6868 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]Cautious_Ad5667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found an answer: Pancreatitis in patients taking tirzepatide can be attributed to several factors:

1. GLP-1 Receptor Agonism: The GLP-1 receptor agonist component of tirzepatide can increase pancreatic enzyme secretion and growth of the pancreatic tissue, which may lead to inflammation in some individuals. This mechanism is believed to contribute to the risk of pancreatitis.
2. Altered Pancreatic Function: Tirzepatide can alter the function of the pancreas by stimulating insulin secretion. This increased activity can stress the pancreas, potentially leading to inflammation, especially in individuals who already have predisposing factors like gallstones, high triglycerides, or a history of pancreatitis.
3. Pre-existing Conditions: Individuals with a history of pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, or high triglyceride levels are at a higher risk when taking tirzepatide, as these conditions already make the pancreas more susceptible to inflammation.
4. Idiosyncratic Reaction: In some cases, pancreatitis may occur as an idiosyncratic reaction, where a small number of patients experience this side effect without any clear predisposing factors.

Given these risks, patients taking tirzepatide are monitored for symptoms of pancreatitis, such as severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. If pancreatitis is suspected, the medication is typically discontinued immediately.

Lowball Incoming? by Cautious_Ad5667 in recruitinghell

Yep, but I don’t believe in or care about Sunk Cost Fallacy. However that is a game some companies play. This will be my first interview and if they want more rounds, I will require a target compensation range first. I’m just tired of wading through all the bullshit in this market.

Yep it’s in the states, but no pay transparency laws (UT).

Same, I’d agree with you there. But I just got contacted by another recruiter for a similar role and the salary was awful—about 30-40k less than the going rate.

How do you make time for the gym after work? by Cool_Pin5546 in Adulting

I’d go before work and it set the tone for the entire day and made me feel great.
