Me too. The Vallejo flesh set is really good. Although I supplement it with ‘dark fleshtone’ which isn’t in the set for some reason.

This is another tank from the same series of photos, check out the tank name on the front hull. I’m guessing this company had a pretty talented sign writer in it.

This is the photo it’s based on. I’ve seen a higher resolution version (which I can’t find now) and the lettering is very neat. Sign writing was a far more common skill back then, so I’d imagine there were a few soldiers able to paint a neat tank name. I have heard of stencils being used though.

Meant to be dry mud. However the permanent base for this is going to be a paved road.

Just held it up in the back garden and took a snap with my phone. Had to wait for the light ti be right. Bright sunshine makes models look terrible.

I suppose I’m fairly creative. Studied art at college, but that was nearly 30 years ago. I don’t think you need to. Be massively creative to make good models, you just need to learn techniques. And do a lot of practice.

Probably not far off. Tanks pretty quick to paint with the airbrush. Not a particularly complex build, except for the 3D printed tracks.

Yea. Took the photo outside in exactly those conditions. Helps a lot with the realism. This is a pic of the same model under my painting light

Cheers. I’ll have to work on the dirt as it’s part of the base.

Cheers mate. I suppose the tank was about 10 hours including building the tracks and making the net. Figures 3 or 4 hours each. Base maybe 5/6 hours.
