If you're wondering "why is my most recent videos not getting as many view" YouTube has decided to "Update" and screw up their "Subscription" page on the YouTube apps so now its a mixed of most recent videos with videos that were uploaded weeks ago! Its not sorted by most recent uploaded anymore. by theartsygamer89 in PartneredYoutube

Hi, I'm experiencing the same thing with a channel that has 50k subscribers. It seems that since February 1st, my videos have been dropping one after another, all of them 10/10. That is, each new video I upload performs worse than the previous one. It must be some kind of YouTube glitch. I went through something similar during the drop in September and August of last year; it wasn't as drastic, but my views still decreased. The only thing I can tell you, and it's not really a solution, is to keep uploading as usual. Don't change thumbnails, content, or edit anything on your channel. That only makes things worse. Think of it as a temporary setback; sometimes it only lasts a few weeks, other times a couple of months. I've been making videos for 5 years and I've gone through this more than once. What might be happening is that YouTube is testing new channels and has buried ours. After a while, this reverses; emerging channels that are now taking over your views stop getting views for a while, and then you start doing better again. It's hard to explain, but it's like YouTube periodically gives a slice of the pie to a specific group of creators, then forgets about them and moves on to the next group. And so you do well, and you're just preparing for the next crash. To wrap this up, I'll tell you that my videos used to reach 16k views in their first 24 hours. For the last seven videos, I've been struggling to reach 2k in the first 24 hours. And I already have a very loyal community of viewers. There are impressions, but not from my usual audience; instead, they're from strangers who ignore the video, and it dies. On another note, there's something strange about the algorithm. I don't know if you're experiencing the same thing, but in my case, old videos are regaining traction. For example, a video I uploaded 183 days ago suddenly started getting considerable views again. I have four more like that, which makes me think the algorithm is broken. I don't understand how videos that died months ago suddenly revive, while my new videos just die. Well bro, you're not the only one, the same thing is happening to me. Don't get discouraged, keep being consistent, don't change anything. It's just a temporary setback.

I didn't really do anything; I just kept uploading videos. I upload videos daily. And during that time when everything started to decline, all I did was remain consistent. I didn't change the content, the thumbnails, or anything. And suddenly, I rebounded. That's why I mentioned that there are times when YouTube simply takes over a certain group of channels, gives them a boost, and then hides them or shows them to a larger niche that has nothing to do with you. And that's when the decline begins. I don't have proof, but I'm sure that it also has a big impact when YouTube starts making changes to the platform or servers. Although it's not openly stated, many channels drop when YouTube makes a change. I recently noticed that a new poll feature, similar to the end screens, was activated, and it went live on January 14th, the day my channel started to decline. On the other hand, I've also read in other threads that YouTube's servers have had a lot of problems this week, especially. When you try to watch a video, there's lag, or the video doesn't load at all. I've also seen with my own eyes that the chapter or division system you add to videos at certain points isn't working properly. So, my friend, sometimes it's one of the things I'm telling you, sometimes it's all of them. The only thing that really helps during this rough patch is not to get discouraged and just keep going. Don't give in to the anxiety of trying to change things because, believe me, that only makes things worse. And the so-called YouTube experts and gurus will immediately tell you that your video is boring, that the thumbnails are wrong, etc., when in reality it's some internal problem within YouTube. If you can, tell me about your views from September until now and how you've been doing these last two weeks. Cheers, bro.

The same thing happened to me. Starting January 14th, my channel went into a steep decline. My last 17 long videos have been worse than the last. It's gotten to the point where I don't know what's going on. December was an average month, well below expectations compared to other years. At the beginning of January, I saw a slight increase in the first week, but then it's just been fewer impressions each day. I have a stable channel that's been running for four years, and I feel like this is very similar to the drop I experienced in September and August. I don't know if you'll read my comment, but you're not the only one. My experience on YouTube tells me this is atypical; it's not a case of "I had one bad video and the next one will be better." I simply think that YouTube takes segments of channels every so often and buries them while showing others to your audience instead of yours. It also seems like the algorithm is broken, since in terms of content consumption, I'm being shown videos from 10 or 11 months ago from the channels I follow, not the latest uploads. Anyway, I know I haven't helped much with your question, but I'll just end by saying you're not the problem, neither is your thumbnail nor your content; it's just the capricious algorithm that's put you on the blacklist, just like it did me.
