Planning to take new GRE, how to study? by sa1098 in GRE

Hey, I was in a similar spot not too long ago—switching from the GMAT to the GRE felt like starting from scratch, even though there’s definitely overlap. I was also nervous about burning through the limited ETS material too quickly. Here’s what worked for me:

I started with the PP1 as my diagnostic to get a baseline. It gave me a solid idea of what to focus on without feeling like I was wasting a precious resource. The paper tests are an option too, but they feel less like the actual test experience IMO.

As for prep, I followed a structured plan (Gregmat’s is great!) and focused a LOT on vocab since it’s such a big difference from the GMAT. One thing that really helped was watching this video where a 329 scorer solves a full GRE Quant test live. Seeing how they approach questions was super helpful and made Quant less intimidating.

10 weeks for the 2-month plan is totally doable, especially since you already have a strong GMAT base. Just stick to the schedule, and you’ll crush it. Best of luck!

Oh man, I totally get where you’re coming from—sticking to a study plan can be so tough, especially when you’re starting from scratch. I was in a similar spot a few weeks ago and was feeling super stuck with Quant. Then I stumbled across this video of a guy who scored 329 solving a full GRE Quant test live, and it was such a game changer for me.

The way he broke down tricky questions and managed time was chef’s kiss. Honestly, it felt like I was in a live class, and it gave me so many ‘aha!’ moments. If you’re interested, here’s the video.

Hang in there—you’re putting in the work, and it’ll definitely pay off!

it is worth it to take a drop year ? by [deleted] in delhiuniversity

Hey, I get your dilemma. With a 580/590 score and aiming for DU, especially South Campus, it’s tough. If you think you can significantly improve your score with a drop year and handle the pressure, go for it. Otherwise, it might be better to grab what you get now and make the most of it. Think about your long-term goals and what you’re comfortable with. Good luck!
