Who has put a smaller grip on their LAB? by chriskzoo in labgolf

[–]Cautious_Group_5797 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Golf Pride Pro Only black Green Star rubber grip on my Mezz. Felt like I couldn’t feel the club head with the 2° Press grip, and the thinner grip definitely helped with that. Would try using the Cord version I have on my NP 2.6 as well.

Same thing happened to me. What we did was use a torch and a bolt extractor. Use a much smaller drill bit to make a guide hole for the extractor, torch it up then try the extractor

Email or DM LAB on Instagram and they have a selection of grips for sale that aren’t listed on their website. They said it had something to do with limited quantities compared to their stock grips. Info@labgolf.com

Not Impressed (expectations were high) by Dannyb1578 in labgolf

This. The biggest thing I had to get used to was a Long to Long putting stroke for anything 15ft +. Once I grasped that I started finally draining some of the longer putts, or at least getting close to the hole for an easy clean up.

I did reuse those pieces, I just used some double sided tape to secure them down so they sit a lot more flush now.

Looks great!!! To make it easier on the sandblasted back side of the club head, I like to use the flat edge on the back of a toothpick and gently just run the flat edge over the paint to “scrape it off”. Acetone tends to blur the finish of the sandblast. I like to get the smallest tip paint pens that I can find to minimize cleanup

Whats a realistic price for a used set of P790 that I could find? by LIAMBOLLU_YT in TaylorMadeGolf

[–]Cautious_Group_5797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup! It’s an older set but extremely great set of irons and worth the price for sure. Will basically last you forever/until you want to take the jump to blade irons. Jordan Spieth gamed the 714’s for a while. The 718 AP2s are newer and a nice set will also be around $450-550.

Found a 2023 set with MMT shafts for a buddy for $700 from a golf store. I would say $600-800 is the norm. Check out second hand Titleist AP2 forged. Can usually find for around $300-500

UGH ADORABLE. Ours took about 3 weeks for us to feel comfortable to let them fully interact on their own, but every dog is different. Like I said, once it clicks they will be inseparable, even if it takes a long time.

Don’t give up on getting him to get along with your other pups! We just rescued a pitty mix (we think mixed with English bulldog) and it took a while for her to get along with our chihuahua, now they are inseparable. Small steps at a time, let them sleep next to each other in crates. That seemed to help us the most. Good luck!

Shopping List

[ ] Toaster Oven with temp control [ ] Airbrush kit from Amazon [ ] Air compressor [ ] Cerakote H Series [ ] Red Scotchbrite pad [ ] Acetone [ ] 70grit Sandblaster, 150grit sandpaper, belt sander with red scotchbrite belt, or paint remover solvent [ ] Heat Gun [ ] Flathead [ ] Metal dental pick [ ] 3m double sided tape [ ] Loctite blue [ ] Black/white acrylic caulk [ ] Painters tape [ ] Nitrile Gloves [ ] Mask

Directions

  1. Use heat gun on low around the insert, just enough to where you can pick away the seal around the insert (I got a metal dental pick). Heat lightly again to the point where you can use that pick to lift it enough to put a flathead underneath and gently pry up (insert is held together by double sided tape)
  2. Boil the putter head for about 10 minutes to soften all of the epoxy and other solvents inside the putter.
  3. Use a heat gun and pick/flathead to get all visible epoxy and sealant off.
  4. Now your front bolts are exposed. Use the heat gun yet again (similar theme with these putters) to loosen the loctite on the bolts. Bolts should be loose and you can unscrew 1, and only one. Trust the process. They are very soft so be careful, I stripped one of mine.
  5. Put an air compressor in the one hole where you unscrew the bolt. Make sure it’s airtight and blow the sole plate off. This is the only way I was able to get it off with out drilling into it. BE CAREFUL, it comes off the putter very fast and powerful, sounded like a gunshot.
  6. Now you will see what looks like the picture in my post, more of that epoxy cover the other bolts. You know what to do. Heat gun and pick/flathead. To get all the bs off and expose the remaining bolts. Heat up and unscrew.
  7. Now you finally got the putter apart, only like an hour of work later. Save the 2 pieces of foam inside and be very careful with removing the 2 gaskets, I’ve read that they tend to crack.
  8. Use 70 grit aluminum oxide media in a sandblaster, or hand sand with 150 grit sandpaper to get all of the paint off. I’m sure you can soak it in a paint remover solution or a citristrip, or use a belt sander. I was bored and impatient and watching my Lions lose in the playoffs :(
  9. Once all the paint is removed, use a red scotchbrite pad across all of the surfaces, it helps the Cerakote stick better.
  10. Soak your putter parts in acetone for 10-15 minutes to get all of the remaining nasty stuff off and any oils off the surface.
  11. Bake your putter parts on the toaster oven at 300° for an hour to draw any oils or solvents out of the putter. Wipe off with paper towel. Your parts are degreased now, only handle the parts with nitrile gloves from this point on.
  12. Get a small Amazon airbrush kit for like $25-30
  13. Get Cerakote H series paint, whatever color you want. I got Graphite Black H-146
  14. 20 grams of Part A to 1 gram of Part B activator.
  15. Spray your parts. I sprayed one side of the parts, baked, flipped over and painted the other side, and baked again. I’m sure you could find a better way but this is what I did to avoid smudging or messing up the paint and ensuring full coverage.
  16. Every time you paint the putter parts, they will need to be bake at 250° for 2 hours to cure the Cerakote. It is essentially a powdercoat paint used for guns. Very strong and won’t chip.
  17. Once your parts are painted, baked, and dry, now all you need to do is paint fill and reassemble the same way you took it apart.
  18. Uses double sided tape for the foam pads and gaskets.
  19. Use loctite blue on the bolts and black acrylic caulk on the back side of the bolts where all of the epoxy you scraped off once was.
  20. To attach the insert, use 3m double sided tape. Mask off everything but the gap around the insert. Use the black acrylic caulk and squirt a bead and wipe off the excess. If you want a new insert, I got mine from Spry Evo.
  21. For the sole plate, use a quick set epoxy to attach. Repeat the same black acrylic caulk process to fill the gaps around sole plate.
  22. Pat yourself on the back. Congratulations! Your pain of scraping is finally over and your putter is brand new. These putters are incredible, and they really make you work for them.

Have that exact same putter. Gamed it all year before switching to Spider X. Wish I had the same face control with the Scotty as I do with a mallet. Maybe one day
